This vibrant marketplace, already a magnet for thousands of visitors indulging in fresh catches from over 40 retailers, vendors, cafes, restaurants, and specialty stores, is now embracing its spectacular waterfront location and architectural brilliance to host a series of free evening concerts. The “New Wave Concert Series” is dedicated to showcasing the freshest sounds from emerging and rising Australian artists, offering a perfect blend of cultural experience and gourmet delights.

The final and highly anticipated instalment of this musical showcase is set to transform the Civic Plaza into a lively outdoor venue on Saturday, March 7th. Kicking off at 5:00 PM and running through to 8:00 PM, the evening promises a captivating line-up of R&B, jazz, and indie pop. Hosting this free musical fiesta is Ifeoma (Ify) Peace Obiegbu, a dynamic Nigerian creative, poet, and former FBi Radio breakfast host, whose engaging presence is sure to enhance the discovery of new musical talent for Sydneysiders.

The evening’s musical journey will commence with the soulful stylings of Kalena. This Sydney-based singer-songwriter has cultivated a distinctive sound that artfully fuses elements of reggae, R&B, pop, and country. Her musical prowess is further honed by her extensive training at the prestigious Berklee College of Music and invaluable mentorship from global industry leaders, promising a performance rich in depth and broad appeal.
Following Kalena, the stage will welcome the atmospheric and expressive talents of Yasmina Sadiki. As a vocalist and instrumentalist, Sadiki is set to deliver a captivating set of alt-jazz and neo-soul, weaving intricate melodies and emotive vocals that are sure to resonate with the audience.

Concluding the “New Wave Concert Series” is the acclaimed Australian indie-pop artist Yorke. - Public Transport: Several bus routes have stops near the market along Pyrmont Bridge Road. Additionally, the Wentworth Park light rail station is conveniently located just a 5-10 minute walk away. It’s important to be aware that the original Fish Market light rail stop has been renamed Bank Street, as it is no longer the closest stop to the market.
