Jackie O’s Profound Shift: From “Unloveable” to Unstoppable
The dawn of 2025 brought more than just fireworks for radio personality Jackie O Henderson. After ringing in the New Year with close friends, including activewear entrepreneur Pip Edwards, at a lavish Sydney Harbour mansion, Jackie experienced a profound moment of clarity. While posing for photos, a playful caption on her singlet, “Wrong party babe,” hinted at a personal shift already underway.
Days later, feeling “stuck,” Jackie turned to an unlikely source for guidance: ChatGPT. “It sounds ridiculous,” she admitted, but this digital interaction, coupled with years of therapy and introspection, led to a “revelation.” In a candid conversation with her friend and manager, Gemma O’Neill, on their podcast Her Best Life in February, Jackie described it as a moment where “every piece of the puzzle clicked into place finally.”
This newfound clarity brought about a significant internal transformation. “My intuition became so loud and clear,” Jackie explained. She felt an innate understanding of every decision she needed to make, from how to spend her free time to where to go on holiday, and even whether to cut ties with people or make career changes. “Everything was just so clear,” she said.
Perhaps more importantly, this shift also redefined her relationship with herself. “The love that I suddenly felt for myself shifted as well,” Jackie shared, becoming emotional as she spoke about overcoming a long-held feeling of being “unloveable.” She described a persistent void within her, a sense of a missing piece that she had sought to fill through relationships, material possessions, career achievements, or external validation. “There was this void in there and… there was still that missing piece and now that has been filled by me because I have joy…” she revealed.
This personal epiphany appears to have coincided with a dramatic turn in her professional life. Just three months after this moment of clarity, on March 3rd, ARN Media, the parent company of KIIS FM, announced that Jackie O had given notice, stating she “cannot continue to work” with her long-time co-presenter, Kyle Sandilands. This development followed an on-air altercation where Kyle accused Jackie of being “fixated” on star charts, leaving her visibly upset. While ARN has offered Jackie another role within the company, celebrity publicist Max Markson expressed doubt about her return to the airwaves in any capacity.
“I think Kyle can apologise in the next two weeks and come back and still earn serious money,” Markson commented. “He’s got another eight and a half years to go… and he’ll get another partner for his show, which will be a woman. And then, for Jackie, I think she’s walked away from the whole deal.”
Stepping Back to Protect Her Private Life
Jackie’s decision to step away from the spotlight extends beyond her radio commitments. The same candid episode of the Her Best Life podcast where she shared her revelations was also her last. She expressed a desire to “protect a fair bit of my private life now,” indicating a conscious move towards greater personal privacy.
Despite these significant changes, her strong bonds with Pip Edwards and manager Gemma O’Neill remain steadfast. Pip, who publicly supported Jackie in 2024 when she revealed her past battle with drug and alcohol addiction, is a vocal advocate for her. “Jackie O is one of the most humble, interested, invested females I’ve ever met. Who she is and how she speaks, she’s that on the street,” Pip told Stellar previously, describing their connection as spiritual and emotional. “I think that really shines through in how we interact, even if it’s on Instagram. I just will forever have her back.”
The pair were recently photographed together sunbathing at Bondi Icebergs, with Pip sharing the photos on her Instagram page on February 6th, captioned: “Back home and straight into solar charging … but most of all, SOUL charging.” Jackie’s affectionate reply, “Love you angel,” and Pip’s reciprocal “Love you more x,” underscore their enduring friendship.

While the financial implications of potentially walking away from a $100 million, 10-year contract with ARN might seem substantial, there are clear indications that money was not the driving force behind Jackie’s decision to seek a new beginning. Her estimated net worth is already around $50 million, and her magnificent mansion in Clovelly, overlooking the picturesque Gordon’s Bay, may hold the key to her future.
Jackie made waves when she purchased the Clovelly property for $13.25 million in 2023, exceeding the reserve price by $1.25 million at auction. However, with a reported $5 million renovation underway, the property, which is slated to feature an expansive pool and gym, is projected to be worth a staggering $30 million. This substantial increase in value suggests a savvy investment that provides considerable financial security, independent of her broadcast career.

What Lies Ahead for Kyle Sandilands?
As Jackie O charts a new course, the question remains: what’s next for her former co-star, Kyle Sandilands? ARN’s statement confirmed that Kyle’s behaviour during the February 20th episode of the show constituted “an act of serious misconduct.” He was suspended and given 14 days to “remedy” the breach, with termination as a potential consequence.
Victoria-Jane Otavski, a commercial litigator, explained to Mumbrella that the situation hinges on the terms of the service agreement between Kyle and ARN. “Say, for instance, under the terms of the services agreement, it requires both Kyle and Jackie to continue to work together — they need to be an available duo — now that Jackie has made it quite public that she is not coming back, then effectively that breach would be very difficult to remedy … and thereby bring about the termination,” she stated. “But, whether or not that’s lawful and a step that is available to ARN will turn on the terms of the services agreement.”

Neither Kyle nor Jackie O have publicly addressed the situation directly. However, Kyle’s ex-partner, Imogen Anthony, offered a message of support for the shock jock. Imogen, who runs the Crimson Peak Animal Sanctuary, acknowledged Kyle’s tendency to “say the wrong thing” but highlighted his positive impact. “With everyone hoping that Kyle gets cancelled, this man also still helps me look after over 100 rescued animals,” she wrote. “I spent 8 years with this man, but I also understand Jackie being an outspoken Aquarian. I also have seen how much he has taken Jackie along every step of the way and ensured that she was treated fairly. I’m upset for both of them to be completely honest and hope they can just snap the f**k out of it.”
