Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem’s Secret Paris Football Getaway

Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem recently made a rare public appearance together, attending a football match between Paris Saint-Germain and FC Lorient at the Parc des Princes Stadium in Paris. The couple, who have been married since 2010, are parents to their son Leo, 14, and daughter Luna, 11.

During the event, Penélope, 52, was seen in a casual black top paired with a baseball cap. She later switched to a chic paperboy hat and sunglasses, while Javier, 57, opted for a Paris Saint-Germain jersey, stylish glasses, and a bushy beard. The couple were observed chatting intently during the game, which ended in a 2-2 draw.

Penélope won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role in Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008), and Javier received the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his performance in No Country for Old Men (2007). He also gained international recognition for his portrayal of Raoul Silva in Skyfall (2012), the James Bond film.

Fans of the iconic spy franchise will have to wait until 2028 for the next Bond movie, marking the longest gap between films in the series’ 64-year history. This follows Daniel Craig’s exit after No Time To Die (2021), which was the last Bond film to feature him as the lead.

The gap between Bond movies is not unprecedented. There was a six-year break between Licence to Kill (1989) and GoldenEye (1995), which marked the first film starring Pierce Brosnan. However, the current situation is expected to be even longer, with a potential 2028 release date. This would mean a seven-year wait for fans, as the previous film was released in 2021.

The Broccoli family, who had managed the Bond franchise for 30 years, handed over creative control to Amazon MGM Studios following Amazon’s acquisition of the studio in 2022. The new team includes director Denis Villeneuve, known for Dune, who has signed on to helm the upcoming project. Steven Knight, creator of Peaky Blinders, is set to write the script.

A source revealed: “Bond won’t be back until 2028. The production mindset has shifted from ‘Let’s hurry this through’ to ‘Make sure we get this right.’ Denis wanted a long break after Dune 3 and has some broad ideas on the script. Steven will get on with drafts, before they map out the final version. That’ll take at least the whole summer.”

According to reports, if pre-production can begin in January 2027, it will be considered a success. Principal photography is expected to run until the summer, with editing taking around nine months to a year.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Amazon MGM for further comment on the project.
