Ada and Chris lead Resident Evil Requiem DLC, latest rumour claims

Upcoming DLC for Resident Evil Requiem

Capcom is preparing to release the first part of the DLC for Resident Evil Requiem this month. However, it’s important to note that this initial addition will not include any story content.

Just over two months after the successful launch of Resident Evil Requiem, Capcom has announced that a new piece of downloadable content will be made available later this month. While an exact date has not been confirmed, the game’s director, Koshi Nakanishi, previously mentioned that a free minigame, similar to The Mercenaries, will be released in May.

As fans await further details, a new rumour has surfaced suggesting that a story DLC titled Extraction will also be launched this month. However, this claim has been dismissed as ‘bulls***’ by Dusk Golem, a well-known insider in the Resident Evil community. In a post on X, Dusk Golem criticized the rumour from an alleged datamining source but did not entirely rule out the possibility that the DLC will feature Leon S. Kennedy and Ada Wong.

“I’ve said before I believe Ada will be involved with [Resident Evil Requiem’s] DLC. But this specific rumour, that in May a DLC called Extraction with Leon and Ada in it, is bulls***,” they wrote. “That’s not what’s releasing.”

Rumours and Speculation

Earlier this year, Dusk Golem expressed their belief that Ada Wong will appear in the planned story DLC for Resident Evil Requiem. This belief was based on a supposed ‘slip up’ that accidentally went public, although they did not specify exactly what it was.

According to a post on Reddit, another rumour from a Chinese leaker suggests that two story expansions are planned for the game. One of these expansions involves Alyssa Ashcroft and Leon S. Kennedy, while the other features Chris Redfield and Ada Wong.

Nakanishi confirmed in March that development on a story expansion is currently underway. However, he mentioned that it will take some time to complete, without providing a specific date or timeframe for its release.

Character Connections and Story Elements

If Ada Wong is indeed involved in the DLC, it could lead to more speculation about the identity of Leon S. Kennedy’s wife. In Resident Evil Requiem, Leon is seen wearing a wedding ring, but the person he is married to remains a mystery.

However, those hoping for an answer to this question in the DLC may be disappointed, as Nakanishi has previously downplayed the inclusion of this detail in interviews. He stated that the wedding ring was simply meant to show how much Leon has changed over time.

Based on comments from a recent interview on Eurogamer, it seems that Leon will continue to play a significant role in the Resident Evil series for many years to come. This suggests that his character arc may not be fully resolved in the near future.
