Tom Brady’s Roast of Kevin Hart: A Return of the Jabs
Tom Brady, the NFL legend and current minority owner of the Raiders, recently made headlines for his humorous yet pointed remarks during a Netflix roast. The event, which saw Brady unexpectedly stepping onto the stage, was a moment of comedic retaliation against comedian Kevin Hart, who had previously targeted Brady during a roast in 2022.
Brady had been the victim of some harsh jokes during that event, which reportedly upset his children and led him to reflect on his past decisions. Now, he took the opportunity to return the favor, joking about Hart’s personal life and even making light of the comedian’s past infidelity.
A Playful Jab at Hart’s Past
During the roast, Brady quipped, “You took a lot of shots at my family during my roast. But I’m too classy to go after your beautiful wife. Or am I?” He then turned his attention to Hart’s wife, Eniko Hart, saying, “What’s up, girl?” as the camera cut to her laughing.
Brady also referenced Hart’s 2017 infidelity, when he cheated while Eniko was pregnant. “I’m a busy man, but I do have a few words for you before I return to my affairs in Las Vegas,” he said, clearly enjoying the moment. However, he quickly added, “Oh, wait, I’m talking about affairs in Las Vegas. Was that off? Not supposed to talk about affairs in Vegas? I think I broke another rule.”
A Surprise Appearance
Earlier in the evening, Brady had surprised Hart by walking out on stage after the comedian vowed he would not be a “fing b*” like Brady during his own roast. This unexpected appearance marked a turning point in the night’s comedy, with Brady clearly enjoying the opportunity to take a few jabs at his former target.
Gisele Bundchen and the Previous Roast
The previous roast had been a tough time for Brady, as it featured several jokes about his Brazilian supermodel ex-wife, Gisele Bundchen. She is the mother of two of Brady’s three children and has since had a child with her jiu-jitsu instructor, Joaquim Valente.
Comedian Nikki Glaser had made a particularly pointed joke during the live broadcast, saying, “How much would it suck for Tom… just knowing your ex-wife’s new boyfriend could beat your a** while eating hers.” She also added, “Tom, the only thing dumber than you saying ‘yes’ to this roast was when you said, ‘Hey babe, you should try jiu-jitsu.’”
Reflections on the Past
Brady later spoke about the experience on the ‘Impaulsive’ podcast, stating, “I love laughing at myself, it felt like I was in the locker room. And the harder people go at me, I’ll actually love it.” He admitted that while he doesn’t take himself too seriously, he understands how difficult it was for his children to watch.
“I don’t take myself too serious but I do understand that for my kids, that was really hard… there are some things as a parent you f*** up and you don’t realize until after,” he said.
Brady added, “I’ll never forget when I talked to my kids the next day, and I felt like a stake through the heart – and understandably. They’re protective of their mom, of their dad, of everybody. ‘What was the point of that? Why did you do that?’ You live and you learn.”
This recent roast marked a moment of comedic payback for Brady, showcasing his ability to laugh at himself while also taking a few shots at those who have targeted him in the past.
