Demi Moore’s Star-Studded Presence at the Cannes Film Festival
Demi Moore has once again captured the spotlight at the 79th Cannes Film Festival, where she has been serving as a jury member. The 63-year-old actress, known for her iconic roles in Hollywood, recently had her handprints cast to mark her participation in the event.
Moore was seen stepping out for the City of Cannes Golden Book and handprint ceremony, where she looked effortlessly chic in a sky blue A-line midi dress that showcased her slender frame. She paired the outfit with open-toe heels and stylish black sunglasses, adding to her elegant appearance.

The handprint will be embedded in the pavements and gardens around the Palais des Festivals et des Congres, making it a lasting tribute to her contribution to the festival. This comes just days after Moore made a stunning appearance at the Kering Women In Motion Awards alongside Julianne Moore on Sunday night.
Throughout the festival, Moore has been turning heads with her fashion choices. At the opening ceremony, she dazzled in over 250 carats of dazzling diamonds from Chopard. She continued to impress at the Kering award ceremony, where she modelled a show-stopping diamond necklace that featured multiple branches of diamonds fanning out in different directions, each branch forming a single flower.
Moore paired the necklace with a strapless purple crocodile print dress and sparkly earrings, creating a striking look that turned heads on the red carpet.
Joining the Jury
This year, Moore is part of an esteemed nine-member jury for the Cannes Film Festival. Alongside her are Hamnet director Chloé Zhao and actor Stellan Skarsgård. The jury includes Irish-Ethiopian actor Ruth Negga, Belgian director and screenwriter Laura Wandel, Chilean director and screenwriter Diego Céspedes, Ivorian American actor Isaach De Bankolé, and Scottish screenwriter Paul Laverty.
South Korean filmmaker Park Chan-wook serves as the president of the jury. Speaking to the Daily Mail at the opening press conference, Moore expressed her feelings about being part of the prestigious event.
“I felt ‘tremendously honoured to be here’. It’s such a beautiful experience and one just to be surrounded by cinema and the love of cinema, and the joy of diving in and being surrounded by those who share that is just – I just felt like a joy. And who can complain about the beautiful view of this incredible place? But yes, I just feel tremendously honoured and I’m super excited. I really – I feel like a little kid getting to play a grown-up.”
Moore added, “Prior I had only ever attended the Cannes Film Festival once, and that was only as someone’s plus one. And so to be sitting here today, I am really, really tremendously honoured.”
Honoring Peter Jackson
This year’s Cannes Film Festival will also pay tribute to filmmaker Peter Jackson, who will receive the Palme d’Or. Organizers announced Jackson in March for what they hailed as “a body of work that blends Hollywood blockbusters and films d’auteur with extraordinary artistic vision and technological audacity.”
Jackson, known for his work on The Lord of the Rings, called the honor “one of the greatest privileges of my career.” Last year, the festival gave honorary Palme d’Or prizes to Robert De Niro and Denzel Washington.
The 79th Cannes Film Festival will run from May 12 to the 23rd, offering a platform for filmmakers and celebrities to showcase their talents and celebrate the art of cinema.
