Nicki Minaj Mocked for Visiting Starbase: ‘MAGA Has-Been’

Nicki Minaj, the renowned rapper, recently found herself in the spotlight after visiting Elon Musk’s SpaceX flight test at the Starbase facility in Texas. During a live stream on Thursday, May 21, the 43-year-old artist expressed her admiration for Musk, saying, “Major shout-out to Elon. Thank you for everything that you’re doing for humanity.” Her visit sparked widespread discussion online, drawing both support and criticism.

The rapper, known for her hit single “Starships,” made an appearance in a casual outfit, sporting a black T-shirt, jeans, and a denim jacket. She completed the look with a yellow purse. Despite her presence, the launch was postponed due to technical issues. Musk later explained that a faulty hydraulic pin had caused the delay and confirmed there would be another attempt on Friday, May 22, at 6:30 p.m., provided repairs were successful.

Nicki Minaj’s visit to SpaceX quickly became a topic of conversation on social media, with many users expressing their disapproval. Some critics referred to her as a “MAGA has-been,” suggesting she was trying to stay relevant. One user wrote on X, “She is so f—— sad and pathetic,” while another commented, “Hopefully they launch her into space and leave her there.” Another person added, “Nicki, you going out sad babe. I see you will do anything just to stay relevant. So disappointed.”

Minaj’s recent public support for Donald Trump has also drawn backlash. Last year, she revealed her MAGA stance, calling herself Trump’s “number one fan” during the Trump Accounts Summit in January. She defended her position, stating, “The hate — or what people have to say — it does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more. And it’s going to motivate all of us to support him more.” She continued, “We’re not going to let them get away with bullying him. He has a lot of force behind him, and God is protecting him. Amen?”

Her support for Trump extended beyond the summit. In December 2025, Minaj joined Erika Kirk onstage at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest, where she praised the president. “Dear young men, you have amazing role models like our handsome, dashing president,” she said. “And you have amazing role models like the assassin, J.D. Vance.” She added, “This administration is full of people with heart and soul, and they make me proud of them. Our vice president, he makes me … well, I love both of them. Both of them have a very uncanny ability to be someone that you relate to.”

Minaj’s comments have continued to generate controversy, with many questioning her political alignment and public statements. While some fans support her views, others criticize her for aligning with controversial figures. The rapper remains vocal about her beliefs, often using her platform to express her opinions, whether they are met with approval or backlash.
