Caleb Shomo Comes Out as ‘Proudly Gay’ with Wife’s 14-Year-Long Support

Caleb Shomo Comes Out as “Proudly Gay” in Emotional Statement

Singer Caleb Shomo, the frontman for US rock band Beartooth, has publicly come out as “proudly gay” in a heartfelt message shared with his fans. The 33-year-old artist opened up about his sexuality on social media, describing the decision as something he felt “compelled to set the record straight.”

Shomo’s wife of nearly 14 years, Fleur Shomo, has publicly expressed her support during what she described as a “very disorientating and hurtful time.” In an emotional statement, Shomo addressed his 217,000 followers, saying: “There’s been a lot of speculation surrounding my personal life as of late. I am a proudly gay man.”

The singer revealed that this revelation has been something he has been “unpacking and reckoning with” for quite some time. He admitted that he spent a decade trying to suppress his feelings through alcohol. “I spent a decade burying feelings with alcohol,” he said.

Until he decided to quit drinking and confront the reasons behind his long-standing struggles. “It’s been a direct path to me reconciling with my sexuality in hopes that it will eventually lead me to experiencing self love,” Shomo continued.

He also shared his hope that his new music will help him face every part of himself. Additionally, he offered words of encouragement to anyone who might be going through similar experiences. “Do the hard work instead of burying it down as deep as you physically can thinking it will change like I did,” he advised.

A Supportive Partner Through Challenging Times

Fleur Shomo took to her own social media to share a statement about the past few months, which she described as challenging for both her and Caleb. She posted an old video of the couple dancing in their living room, followed by a five-slide statement expressing her unwavering support.

“I will always want to love, protect and support Caleb,” she wrote. “I have cared more about his well-being over the years than anything else in the world.”

She spoke about the confusion and pain Caleb went through while struggling to understand how to help. While she wanted nothing more than for Shomo to “be OK,” she admitted feeling “anger” as the life she knew began to “completely demolished.”

“To support him while losing everything has been incredibly hard to figure out,” she wrote. “My mental health has suffered,” she added, but she will never question their history or the nearly 14 years of marriage they shared.

“Our story was a good one. And now it’s done,” she concluded before thanking fans for their support.

Moving Forward with Honesty and Courage

Shomo’s openness about his sexuality marks a significant moment in his life and career. By sharing his journey, he hopes to inspire others who may be facing similar challenges. His honesty is not only a step toward self-acceptance but also a powerful message of resilience and courage.

For many fans, Shomo’s story is a reminder that it’s okay to be vulnerable and that seeking help is a sign of strength. His journey shows that even in the face of uncertainty and pain, there is always hope for growth and healing.

As he continues to navigate this new chapter, Shomo remains committed to being true to himself and using his platform to support others. His message is clear: embracing your identity is a process, but it’s a journey worth taking.
