New Hosts Bring Excitement to Strictly Come Dancing
The world of Strictly Come Dancing is buzzing with new energy as the BBC has announced its latest line-up for the popular show. Fans have been sharing their thoughts on the change, and one of the show’s most beloved stars, Nikita Kuzmin, has spoken out about the new additions.
Nikita, known for his charismatic presence on the dance floor, expressed his excitement about the new trio of hosts—Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe, and Johannes Radebe. He described them as “absolutely epic” and highlighted how much he enjoys working with them.
During an appearance on Good Morning Britain, Nikita shared his thoughts on the new team, noting that while Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman are legendary, the new hosts bring something special to the table. He added: “And plus JoJo, we know JoJo so well. It’s just so, so lovely.”
When asked about Johannes’ ability to balance presenting with his passion for dancing, Nikita was quick to reassure fans. He said: “JoJo will never stop dancing. It’s Johannes… I’m sure he will present…. Johannes will be fantastic at whatever he does.”
Behind the scenes, the new hosts were seen sharing their excitement in a clip posted on Strictly’s Instagram story. In the video, Johannes, 39, and Josh, 43, discussed their anticipation for the upcoming season. Josh admitted, “It doesn’t feel real,” to which Johannes replied, “You’re telling me, you’re telling me.”
Josh then asked Johannes how he felt about no longer being part of the dancing team and instead focusing on hosting. Johannes responded with enthusiasm: “Listen, I’m not hanging up my dancing shoes as yet. That I’m definitely not doing. I mean, I cannot. What is my life without a Cha Cha Cha?”
Josh joked, “Oh, I feel the same. That’s how I feel every morning.”
In another clip, the trio shared their excitement with one another. Josh remarked, “Genuinely, this is the most exciting thing in my life that I’ve ever kept to myself. Can’t wait.” Emma added, “I still can’t find the words because my tummy is flipping consistently. I would imagine it’s how you feel when you know you’ve got to walk down the stairs ‘dancing the cha cha!’ And like everything goes to jelly. That’s how I feel thinking about what we’re about to do.”
Johannes chimed in, saying, “It’s petrifying but I can’t tell you how exciting it is.”
Emma later commented, “We’re going to laugh a lot, aren’t we? Just lots of laughing.” Josh agreed, “Just laugh our way through it.”
In a final clip, Josh spoke about his new colleagues, Emma and Johannes. He said, “I’ve just realized I’ve been booked to present something with two of the most striking people on television and I look like me. Absolute disaster. Emma is like one of the great TV hosts of our generation. And Johannes is one of the great dancers of our generation. And I’m here as well. I’m looking forward to the first episode because I think it will be the only episode in the history of Strictly where the presenters are more nervous than the dancers. It’s going to be great.”
