Jeremy Clarkson Teases Future Proposal to Girlfriend Lisa Hogan
Jeremy Clarkson, the well-known TV presenter and co-owner of Diddly Squat farm, has recently hinted at a potential proposal to his girlfriend, Lisa Hogan. The couple, who have been together since 2017, are approaching their 10th anniversary, and Clarkson’s comments have sparked interest among fans and media alike.
In the fifth series of Clarkson Farm, which is set to release on Prime Video in June, Clarkson and his adviser Charlie Higson discuss the cost-effectiveness of foreign farmers selling into the British market. During one episode, Clarkson humorously suggests that marrying an Irish person could be an option as they celebrate their long-term relationship.
‘If only I knew someone I could marry who was Irish,’ he says, prompting a production member to quip: ‘That could cost you a lot more.’ This light-hearted exchange highlights the playful dynamic between the two, even as they navigate their personal and professional lives together.
Lisa’s Mission to Improve Jeremy’s Health
In the same episode, according to reports, Lisa is focused on helping Jeremy adopt a healthier lifestyle following a recent heart scare. She encourages him to try eating kale, promising it will be delicious when cooked. Despite running a farm that produces beef, pork, and lamb, Lisa insists that Jeremy can only enjoy these meats twice a month.
‘Don’t be such a petulant little child – just get healthier and you could live life again,’ she tells him. The couple has shown their commitment to each other through various public tributes, especially during their ninth-anniversary celebration last December.
Jeremy captioned a post with ‘Nine years!’, while Lisa joked on her Instagram stories that it felt like she had been with him for 900 years. Their relationship, which began after being set up by friends at a Christmas party, has grown significantly over the years.
A History of Courtship and Relationships
Lisa has spoken about how Jeremy had to work hard to win her affections, as she initially thought he had a ‘bit of a rep’. She told The Sun that he courted her for three months before she finally gave in. ‘He does make an effort to make me laugh a lot, which I really appreciate. And we do get on,’ she added.
Last year, Lisa shared her hopes of getting engaged to the outspoken presenter. During a walk, the couple discussed the idea of proposing, with Jeremy hinting at a ‘big surprise’. When asked if it was a proposal, he pretended not to hear and instead showed her a fallen willow tree that was beginning to regrow.
After Lisa followed up on the proposal, Jeremy said, ‘I’ll think about the proposal, OK? I’m not ready yet.’ Lisa later reflected on the exchange, saying, ‘I just thought I might surprise him.’
A Background of Previous Marriages
Jeremy has been married twice before. His first marriage to Alexandra James lasted six months in 1989 before they separated in 1990. He then married Frances Cain, with whom he spent over two decades. The couple had three children: daughters Emily and Katya, and son Finlo.
Lisa, on the other hand, was married for 30 years to Baron Steven Bentinck before meeting Jeremy. Their marriage ended in 2011, and they have three children together.
