Lady Gaga Cancels Montreal Show Due to Illness
Lady Gaga, known for her electrifying performances and dedication to her fans, recently had to make the difficult decision to cancel a concert in Montreal. The “Abracadabra” singer was set to perform as part of her Mayhem Ball Tour, but she announced the cancellation due to a worsening respiratory infection.
In an Instagram Story post on April 6, Gaga shared her disappointment over the situation. “I’m so sorry to share that I’m unable to perform tonight and have to cancel the show,” she wrote. “I’ve been fighting a respiratory infection for the past few days and doing everything I can to rest and recover, but it’s gotten worse.”
Despite her determination to continue with the performance, Gaga’s doctor advised her against it. “My doctor has strongly advised me not to perform today,” she explained. “And to be honest, I don’t think I could give you the quality of a performance today that you deserve.”
Gaga expressed deep regret for letting her fans down. “I know how deeply disappointing this is,” she said. “And I truly could not feel worse about letting you down. I’m so sorry to everyone who made plans to be there and support me.”
She also took a moment to appreciate the Montreal audience who attended her previous shows on April 2 and 3. “Being in Montreal and performing for you on Thursday and Friday was magical and deeply meaningful,” she concluded. “To everyone who was coming tonight, I’m absolutely heartbroken and so sorry.”
At this time, it is unclear whether the canceled show will be rescheduled. However, Gaga’s tour continues with upcoming performances in Saint Paul, Minn., on April 9 and 10, followed by a final stop in New York City to wrap up her 86-show tour.
A Busy Schedule Beyond the Stage
Gaga has been keeping busy with more than just her tour. She recently attended the 2026 Grammys in February, where she won the Best Pop Vocal Album award for her album Mayhem. In addition to her music career, she has been preparing for her upcoming wedding to fiancé Michael Polansky.
While she remains tight-lipped about the details of their big day, she did reveal one thing she is certain about. “I’m desperately trying to keep that so private,” she told E! News in March 2025. “But I would say I can promise that it will be the best day of my life.”
Other Stars Facing Health Challenges
Gaga is not alone in facing health challenges. Many other celebrities have publicly shared their experiences with overcoming various health issues. From battling chronic illnesses to recovering from injuries, these stars have shown resilience and strength.
Some notable examples include:
- Jamie Foxx: The actor and musician has spoken openly about his struggles with diabetes and the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
- Selena Gomez: She has been vocal about her battle with lupus and the impact it has had on her mental and physical health.
- Shia LaBeouf: The actor has discussed his journey through addiction and recovery, highlighting the importance of seeking help and support.

These stories serve as reminders of the importance of health and well-being, even for those in the spotlight. As fans continue to support their favorite stars, it’s clear that the journey to recovery is often just as inspiring as the performances themselves.
