A New Beginning for MB Dance, Cheer and Performing Arts
A performing arts school in Bournemouth has made a remarkable impact just 18 months after its opening. Focused on building confidence and providing opportunities for young people, MB Dance, Cheer and Performing Arts has already seen early success in competitions.
The school was founded by Kerri Gardiner, a local resident who previously ran the Storm School of Dance for over 23 years. Mrs Gardiner shared her motivation for starting the new school: “I opened MB Dance, Cheer and Performing Arts after having a very big school, Storm School of Dance for over 23 years. Students now perform all over the world and on TV.”
When the school first opened, it had only five students. However, in a short time, it has grown significantly, now welcoming 100 students aged between 5 and 16 across various classes.
Building a Supportive Community
Mrs Gardiner expressed her vision for the school: “My hopes and dreams when opening was to have a school where everyone supports and cares for each other. MB work on giving our next generation a chance to shine bright in performing or just even build self confidence.”
The school’s approach is not only focused on performance but also on fostering a positive environment where students can thrive. This philosophy is evident in the way the school operates and the values it promotes.
Coaches and Teams
In addition to Mrs Gardiner, the school is also led by Miss Georgia, who coaches the competition teams known as MB Cheer and MB Elite. Both teams have shown impressive growth and development since their inception.
MB Cheer recently achieved a notable milestone by placing 4th in its first-ever competition against 10 other teams in the division. This accomplishment highlights the dedication and hard work of both the students and the coaching staff.
Positive Feedback from Parents
Parent Hayley Witham shared her experience: “My daughter absolutely loves the dance school, the ethos and being part of the cheer team.” This feedback reflects the positive impact that the school has had on its students and their families.
