Marco Rubio Takes the DJ Deck at a Family Wedding
Marco Rubio, the US Secretary of State, recently found himself in an unexpected role—DJ. Instead of delivering a speech, he took to the turntables at a family wedding, playing electronic dance music for an enthusiastic crowd.
Dressed in his usual suit and tie, Rubio was seen holding a set of headphones to his ear in front of a packed dance floor. A clip shared by White House deputy chief-of-staff Dan Scavino showed Rubio in action, with Scavino captioning the post on X: “Our Great Secretary of State @MarcoRubio DJ’s weddings too! Here he is in action tonight at a family wedding… Let’s goooooo!!!”
The Republican politician was even captured pumping his fist as the music slowed down, showing his enthusiasm for the event. Among the tracks played, it appeared that Rubio had a particular fondness for “Shiver” by John Summit and HAYLA.
While many found the moment entertaining, not everyone was pleased with Rubio’s choice of priorities. Some users criticized him for focusing on a wedding while the world faces a global oil crisis and Middle East negotiations stall.
One user wrote: “How many jobs does this guy have???” Another comment read: “Gang of 8 Rubio dancing as 2 billion is being spent a day on a war no one voted for. Really sickening. What is wrong with you people!”

Rubio is widely seen as a rising star within the GOP and is considered one of the favorites to succeed Donald Trump in the 2028 presidential election. Throughout his tenure, he has faced several key challenges, including managing military operations in Venezuela and negotiating a deal in the Middle East.
Interestingly, the president himself has also been known for his flair on the dance floor. His signature “Trump dance” set to the MAGA soundtrack, YMCA by the Village People, has become a recognizable part of his public persona.
Trump once joked that his moves weren’t as popular with his wife Melania, who has described the dance as “so unpresidential.” However, she later added that she had told her husband that the dance wasn’t appropriate “some days.”
She continued: “But it’s his dance and I think people love it.”
