Student Missing for a Week, Fears Grow in Kentucky

Missing Student Search Intensifies

The search for a missing student from Northern Kentucky University has intensified as authorities continue their efforts to locate Murry “Alexis” Foust, 22. The last known sighting of the student was on April 27 in the Latonia neighborhood of Covington, according to the Covington Police Department.

Concerns about Foust’s safety have led the department to urge anyone with information to come forward. In a social media post, they emphasized that “your input could be crucial.” Officials have confirmed that there is currently no indication of foul play in connection with the disappearance.

Surveillance Footage Released

The police department released photos of Foust, including surveillance footage showing the student on April 27 at 6 p.m. One image captured Foust walking away from the camera, wearing a dark-colored jacket, wide-leg patterned pants, black sneakers, and a mustard yellow backpack. Additional images showed close-ups of the student’s face as they moved through the Latonia area.

Foust’s family has spoken out since the disappearance, with the student’s father sharing unconfirmed reports of sightings with WCPO. However, he also mentioned that no one has been able to contact Foust as the search continues.

Academic Background and Last Known Activities

Foust, a fine arts major in the university’s College of Arts and Sciences, was just days away from graduation, according to WCPO. Friends of the student told the outlet that Foust had planned to attend class on the day they went missing but never arrived.

“We don’t know what happened. They could be in danger,” said fellow student Eve Miller, who expressed concern over the situation. Miller added that Foust’s phone was found at their home, and their backpack was later discovered on campus.

Despite the growing concerns, Miller remains hopeful that Foust will be found. Fliers have been distributed around campus, encouraging anyone with information to reach out to the Covington police.

“The people I’m connected with who are involved in the search are like hopeful,” Miller shared. “They think that they can be found, something can be found that can lead to an answer and a safe resolution.”

University Response and Ongoing Efforts

In a statement, Northern Kentucky University acknowledged Foust’s disappearance and expressed its support for the student’s family. The university stated that it is deeply concerned and that its thoughts are with Foust’s family, friends, and those impacted by the incident.

The university spokesperson added that it is “fully cooperating” with the police to find the missing student. Multiple resources, including drones, water rescue units, and search teams, are being used in the ongoing search for Foust.

As the investigation continues, the community remains on edge, hoping for any new developments that could bring clarity and closure to this unsettling situation.
