New Samsung T7 and T9 microSD Cards Boost Gaming and Creativity in India

Samsung has broadened its range of removable storage solutions in India with the launch of the T7 and T9 microSD cards. This new product line represents a rebranding effort, while also responding to the increasing demand for faster and more capacious storage options. Below are all the technical details regarding these new microSD cards from Samsung.

Key Specifications of Samsung T7 and T9 MicroSD Cards

The T7 microSD card is designed for everyday users who want to enhance storage on smartphones, tablets, laptops, and gaming devices. It comes in capacities ranging from 128GB to 1TB, with read speeds of up to 170MB/s. This makes it ideal for regular file transfers, storing media, and handling casual gaming without experiencing any significant lag.

The T9 microSD card, on the other hand, is tailored for users who work with larger files and require faster access speeds. It boasts read speeds of up to 200MB/s and write speeds of up to 130MB/s, making it suitable for high-resolution video recording and rapid data transfers. Additionally, it features a six-layer protection system that ensures data remains secure in various environments, including use in drones and action cameras.

Simplified Naming Strategy

Samsung is also adopting a more straightforward naming convention with this release. The new T series replaces previous models such as EVO Plus and PRO variants, aligning the removable storage lineup with the existing portable SSD naming strategy. This change aims to make it easier for consumers to understand performance levels while maintaining consistency across different product categories.

Pricing and Availability

In terms of pricing, the T7 microSD card starts at Rs 4,849 (~$50) for the 128GB version, with prices increasing up to Rs 30,399 (~$320) for the 1TB model. The T9 series begins at Rs 5,989 (~$65) for the 128GB variant and goes up to Rs 18,999 (~$200) for the 512GB option. Both product lines will be available in India starting from the first week of May 2026 through both online and offline retailers.
