The Drama Continues: What Happened After MAFS 2026
If you thought this year’s Married At First Sight was dramatic, wait until you hear about all the antics the cast has been up to since the show wrapped. The cameras may have stopped rolling on MAFS 2026, but the real-life theatrics are far from over. From public apologies to unexpected romances and fractured friendships, the post-show fallout has been a whirlwind.
An Australian Fashion Week Scandal
Australian Fashion Week is a known hotspot for MAFS alumni, but this year, it also became the alleged ‘scene of the crime’ for a rented dress scandal. During Sydney’s AFW, Bec Zacharia appeared in an interview with The Gloss Over Podcast, claiming she spent nearly a whopping $20,000 on her wardrobe for the show. She said that she was offered “no budget” and that she was the only bride on MAFS who bought “all her own dresses”. She added that she prioritised purchasing her own clothes over renting so that she could feel like herself while filming.
And that would have been that. Except after the video was published, the owner of bridal dress hire company, RESRVD, took to social media, alleging that Bec used her company for her Final Vows dress in exchange for brand ‘exposure’. The owner, Savannah, claims that instead of being publicised on Bec’s main account (of over 70k followers), the post was tagged from her ‘private account’ of only 10k.
“It is incredibly disappointing when a small business is not given the recognition that they are promised,” Savannah said. The video went viral and users started to ‘report’ Bec’s Instagram page, which led to it being taken down. And Bec isn’t pleased about it.
She told Daily Mail Australia, “This is my only form of income, and that has now been taken away from me.” “I am a small business now. All of the deals that I’ve got going on rely on me having my Instagram.” She said she hadn’t given the AFW interview with bad intentions and thought she’d satisfied the deal. “I was under the impression she was happy with what I did,” she said. “I wish there had been communication where she could have told me her grievances… I would have done everything to fix that for her.”
Following the debacle, Savannah went back on her social media to say thank you for all the comments she received. She also gave a shout-out to Sustainably Dress Hire, who allegedly dressed Bec and a number of other brides throughout the MAFS season. “I’m not an influencer. I’m just a normal girl. I thought what I had done was satisfactory.”
Scott Hard-Launches His New Relationship
It’s been three weeks since MAFS wrapped up but Scott McCristal seems to have already well and truly moved on. Scott and his MAFS wife Gia Fleur started off as the season’s ‘power couple’ but their relationship became turbulent before it came to an end with a fiery final dinner party. Now, Scott has confirmed he is in a new relationship, hard-launching his new girlfriend, Brienna Stockdale, with a carousel of photos on his Instagram to more than 99,0000 followers.
“Found you,” he captioned the post alongside a red heart and padlock emoji.

Scott’s fellow MAFS alumni David Momoh, Stella Mickunaite and Filip Gregov shared their excitement in the comment section. “Hard launch!!!! Here for it!” Stella wrote. Before the post, Scott hinted to the new relationship in conversation with the Daily Mail Australia. “There is someone in the picture but I can’t really confirm anything because it’s early days,” he told the publication.
Earlier, in a chat with, Gia confirmed that she and Scott were officially over and that she believed he wasn’t in the experiment for the right reasons. “I do believe he was just going along with the flow just to stay on the show. 100 per cent. And hopefully, that plays out and people can see it,” she said. Gia also announced, before the show ended, that she was in a new relationship with Love Triangle’s Alan Wallace.
Danny and Bec’s Heated Confrontation
Groom Danny Hewitt has officially entered the damage control phase. After a season now defined by his controversial commentary regarding brides Steph and Bec, he surprisingly returned for After The Dinner Party, and it was explosive to say the least. After going totally offline, Danny made a last-minute comeback — so last minute, even the hosts of the show weren’t sure if he was showing up — but only on the condition that he be interviewed alone.
He started the segment off by apologising to, not his ex-wife Bec, but Steph, whom he had previously called a “f-ing little skank.” “I’m disgusted in myself. My family are disgusted with me… It’s repulsive, the way I spoke to Steph,” he admitted. “My mum’s so disappointed in me because she’s like, ‘That’s not how I raised you.’”

While he claimed to have privately reconciled with Steph, his remorse was nowhere to be seen when it came to Bec. He even attempted to dismiss his comments as dry humour, shifting blame by claiming Bec had previously mocked his looks. “It’s more just tongue in cheek… It’s not tit for tat, but she’s attacked my looks. She called me a frog. It’s gone back and forth,” he said.
Appalled by his deflection, Bec stormed the studio to confront her ex-husband face-to-face. “I just think that I deserve to sit here with you because it’s pretty cowardly that you wouldn’t face me,” Bec told him. “You’ve not once said that the way I spoke about Bec was disgusting.” The confrontation turned heated as Danny accused Bec of lying in the press, leading host Laura to call him out for his degrading pattern of speaking about women.
After some pointed questioning, Danny insisted he didn’t care about the fame, even claiming he would delete his TikTok altogether. “This is the last time you’ll see me on your screens. I’m done… Promise you all my whole life, I’ll never do another TikTok,” Danny said. While the two of them shook hands in the end and agreed to go their separate ways, it’s clear that accountability is well and truly out the window for Danny. It doesn’t look good.
Unseen Footage of Danny Was Released
The drama originally stemmed from a series of Danny’s awful comments that surfaced after the experiment. In unseen footage from the Reunion, Danny was caught calling Steph a “f-ing little skank” after the Dinner Party blowup, and she tried to clear the air with him privately. He also famously slammed production for his match with Bec, mocking her looks. “I have a f*g cushy little life, I gave up my life to be here, and I could roll into Coles right now, walk up to aisle four, there’s a bird in there, and she’ll be better than Bec. She can’t be no worse, it’s impossible,” he said. “To the execs watching this, you’re f-ing s* at your job. Bring me better women.” Yikes.
The Bromance We Didn’t See Coming: Scott and Danny
They were at each other’s throats during the experiment while defending their respective wives, but Scott and Danny have since buried the hatchet. Now that they are both single, they’ve formed an unlikely bond.

“Myself, David and Danny. We all stay in touch,” Scott told, confirming that the tension from the show is officially water under the bridge. Perhaps David was the bridge to their friendship?
Alissa Has Found Love with Another Reality TV Star
Alissa has officially moved on from the experiment and into the arms of Australian Ninja Warrior star Nathan Ryles. During an appearance on After The Dinner Party, she couldn’t hide her joy. “I am so in love. Never felt like this before in any previous relationship,” Alissa shared. “I thought I knew what love was and that feeling, but this is a connection I can’t even describe.”
The Chaos of Gia’s Birthday Bash
If you want to track the most volatile friendship of the season, look no further than Gia and Bec. Their relationship has been a total rollercoaster. Speaking to, Bec didn’t hold back on her thoughts regarding Gia. “Well, I mean, nothing’s real about Gia. I think that she… was obsessed with my husband,” Bec claimed. Despite the vitriol, Bec still made the guest list for Gia’s birthday — which caused its own set of problems. Juliette, who was close with Gia on the show, claimed she was snubbed from the event to accommodate Bec.
“I [initially] got invited… And then, because Bec was there, she told me that she didn’t want me there ‘cause Bec’s gonna be there,” Juliette told the Daily Mail. And since then, the on-again-off-again friendship has continued to give us whiplash. Speaking on After The Dinner Party about Gia’s birthday, Bec confirmed it was a disaster and that her and Gia are not friends anymore. “The stest party I’ve ever been to, an absolutely unhinged dinner. Luke is throwing food across the table at people. People yelling. Alan and Gia are basically fornicating on a table. It was mortifying. It was the biggest s show I’ve ever experienced in my life, but that’s not why I cut ties completely,” she said.
Julia Has Hard-Launched a New Relationship
Julia has also found a partner outside the MAFS bubble. She recently introduced her girlfriend, singer-songwriter Sasha Millar, to her followers with a cheeky nod to her time on the show. “When you meet someone who is fluent in word salad,” Julia joked in her caption. Explaining their “meet-cute” on After The Dinner Party, Julia revealed: “I went to do a singing lesson with this particular woman… But I realised I didn’t really want her to be my singing teacher, and we’ve been seeing each other since then.”
Gia Also Has a New Reality Star Beau
Gia didn’t wait for the finale to air before debuting her new man, Love Triangle star Alan Wallace. In a March TikTok, she made it clear this wasn’t a PR stunt. “Hard launch. Most def not a PR relationship. No revenge. I got the love story of my dreams,” she wrote. The pair have already proven their commitment in the most extreme way by getting each other’s names tattooed on their bodies.
The Brides Are Still Friends (Well, Most of Them)
While the 2026 season was high on conflict, a core group of brides remained tight. Alissa, Rachel, Stella and Bec are still close, with their group also sharing plenty of photos with Julia, Mel and Rebecca. Rachel and Alissa even got matching tattoos, to commemorate their time on the show. However, their friendship circle clearly doesn’t include everyone. Rachel confirmed to that she cut ties with Gia and Juliette. “I don’t talk with Gia or Juliette now… She’s [Gia] not my person. She’s not someone I want in my life,” Rachel stated. Alissa also posted a series of girl-group shots, noticeably not including Gia, Juliette or Brook.
Rebecca appears to be keeping things pretty neutral — sharing glam with Gia for the MAFS reunion, then enjoying a getaway with Bec this week.

As for the grooms, most seem to be pairing up (see above: Danny, David and Scott) or keeping to themselves. But by all accounts, Chris and Sam are also included on plenty of nights out and catch ups with the brides — seen hanging out with Alissa, Rachel, Stella and more. Meanwhile, Luke seems to be hanging out at the farm a whole lot. And Joel is a crowd favourite, too.
Bec and Joel’s Friendship Is Going Strong
An unlikely duo formed in Bec and Joel, who have been snapped hanging out so much that it even started some dating rumours. But in an Instagram Live, Bec confirmed they are just pals. “Everyone thinks Joel and I are dating because we are just, like, best mates, and we’re having lunches together and getting photographed,” Bec said. “But no, we’re not dating… he wishes […] Nah, I’m just kidding.”
