Cricket Fans in Concern After Hasan Ali’s Injury
Cricket fans across the globe were left in a state of concern after veteran Pakistan seamer Hasan Ali was taken off the field on a stretcher during the second Bangladesh vs Pakistan Test match. The incident occurred on Saturday morning in Sylhet, where the game was being played under ideal conditions for cricket.
Ali was bowling the fifth ball of the eighth over when Tanzid Hasan Tamim hit a leading edge off his bat. The bowler attempted to take the return catch on his follow-through but failed to complete it. As a result, he fell onto the pitch, with his head hitting the ground hard. Hasan remained motionless for a few seconds before clutching his head and showing signs of dizziness.
The medical team swiftly arrived at the scene to assess the situation. Hasan was then assisted onto a stretcher and taken off the field for further evaluation. The incident left the Pakistani coaching staff visibly concerned, with coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul seen closely observing the situation. Veteran player Salman Ali Agha later completed the over.
Pakistan Secures Early Wickets
After winning the toss, Shan Masood opted to bowl first on what appeared to be a perfect day for cricket in Sylhet. The decision paid off quickly as Mohammad Abbas took the first wicket in the second ball of the game. Mahmudul Hasan Joy edged the pacer behind, and Salman Ali Agha made no mistake in taking the catch from the second slip position.
Former skipper Mominul Haque joined Tanzid Hasan Tamim in the middle, and the two batsmen kept the pressure on the Pakistan bowlers. They scored boundaries regularly, helping the hosts reach 42 runs in just nine overs. Abbas then claimed the second wicket by completing a return catch that dismissed the Bangladeshi opener for 26 runs off 34 balls, with three boundaries.
Babar Azam Returns, Shaheen Shah Afridi Dropped
In a significant change to the lineup, former Pakistan captain Babar Azam returned to the side for the second Test match. The 31-year-old had missed the previous game due to fitness concerns. His absence in the first Test led to a heavy loss for Pakistan, as they were defeated by 104 runs.
Another notable change saw Khurram Shahzad replacing Shaheen Shah Afridi in the XI. The left-arm pacer had faced criticism for his ineffective performance in the previous game. Reports suggested that there was a heated exchange between the pacer and skipper Shan Masood in the dressing room.
The third change involved off-spinner Sajid Khan replacing Noman Ali in the visitors’ squad. These adjustments highlight the importance of the upcoming match for Pakistan as they look to bounce back from their recent defeat.
