Rodri has issued a warning to Arsenal, stating that their Premier League title campaign is far from straightforward following Manchester City’s FA Cup victory on Saturday.
Antoine Semenyo’s backheel goal secured a 1-0 win for City against Chelsea at Wembley, marking the second trophy of the season for Pep Guardiola’s team after their Carabao Cup final triumph over Arsenal in March.
With the FA Cup now behind them, City will shift their focus back to the Premier League, where they currently trail Arsenal by two points with just two games remaining. The race for the title is set to be decided in the final days of the season.
Arsenal have the opportunity to extend their lead by five points if they defeat Burnley at home on Monday. Meanwhile, City will need to secure a win away at Bournemouth on Tuesday night to keep the title race alive until the final day.
On the final day of the Premier League season next Sunday, City will host Aston Villa at the Etihad Stadium, while Arsenal will travel to face Crystal Palace.

Speaking after City’s FA Cup victory at Wembley, Rodri emphasized that Arsenal could still make mistakes in the title race.
‘Yeah, it’s a confidence boost [winning the FA Cup], but we don’t lose our calm. We still have two games to play, and they are massive and very, very tough,’ Rodri said.
‘Everything can happen. It’s just that we need them [Arsenal] to drop points, and it can happen in the next game or in the last game. But if I was in their position, it’s not easy to finish the task. We have to be there pushing until the end.’
When asked whether he believes Arsenal could slip up, Rodri responded: ‘I mean, from our experience, we were losing the title against Aston Villa at our home in minute 80 [in 2022]. So everything can happen in football. We know how difficult it is to close things, and we know how difficult it is to beat everyone in this Premier League.’
- Rodri’s comments highlight the unpredictable nature of the Premier League, where even the most dominant teams can face unexpected challenges. The competition between City and Arsenal has been one of the most exciting in recent years, with both sides showing incredible resilience and determination.
- The upcoming fixtures will be crucial in determining the champion. For Arsenal, maintaining their form against Burnley is essential, while City must overcome the challenge of playing away at Bournemouth.
- The final day of the season promises to be a dramatic conclusion to the title race, with both teams having the chance to claim the trophy.
As the Premier League approaches its climax, fans around the world are eagerly anticipating the final matches. The stakes are high, and every point could be decisive in the battle for the title.
