Eva Longoria Shines at Cannes Film Festival’s Global Gift Gala
Eva Longoria, a familiar face at the Cannes Film Festival, made a stunning appearance at the annual Global Gift Gala on Wednesday night. The 51-year-old actress captivated attention with her elegant black and white sequin dress, which accentuated her figure in a halterneck design. She completed her look with glittering drop earrings, a matching necklace and bracelet, and towering platform heels.
The event, held at La Mome Plage, is a key fundraiser for the Global Gift Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting children, women, and families in need. Eva has been an honorary member of the foundation for some time, highlighting her commitment to philanthropy.
Cannes Film Festival continues until this Saturday, and Eva remains a regular at the star-studded event. Her presence on the red carpet is always a highlight for fans and media alike.

A New Chapter Abroad
Despite being born in Texas and spending most of her adult life in California, Eva has chosen to live primarily in Spain and Mexico. She left the United States two years ago, describing it as a ‘dystopian’ place. While she still makes necessary trips back to the US, she has retained dual citizenship in both the US and Spain.
Eva has expressed that the American chapter of her life is now over. She feels that the atmosphere in Los Angeles has changed significantly, making it less appealing for her to stay. Her decision to move was also influenced by her concerns about the political climate, particularly regarding Donald Trump’s policies.
‘I get to escape and go somewhere,’ she told Marie Claire magazine in late 2024. ‘Most Americans aren’t so lucky. They’re going to be stuck in this dystopian country, and my anxiety and sadness is for them.’
Her departure came after Trump began filling key posts in his second administration, many of which were met with criticism. Eva was vocal about her concerns, stating that it was shocking that a convicted criminal who spreads hate could hold the highest office in the US.

Life Between Spain and Mexico
Eva and her husband, Bastón, have embraced their new lifestyle between Spain and Mexico. The couple, who share a seven-year-old son named Santiago, have invested in a luxurious home in Marbella. After a long search, they purchased a six-bedroom, seven-bathroom villa in early 2023. The couple has since renovated the property, adding a home cinema, sauna, and gym.
In addition to their Spanish residence, Eva and Bastón also own a mansion in Beverly Hills. In February 2024, they reduced the listing price of their eight-bedroom home from $22.8 million to $18.9 million, indicating their readiness to move on from their previous life in the US.

Reflections on Life in California
Eva has reflected on her time in California, acknowledging that while she had her entire adult life there, the city has changed significantly. She mentioned that even before the pandemic, the vibe was different, and the situation worsened with the arrival of the virus.
‘Whether it’s the homelessness or the taxes – not that I want to s*** on California – it just feels like this chapter in my life is done now,’ she said in 2024.
Eva admits that she is privileged to have the means to live abroad, but she remains focused on her family and the future. Her journey from the US to Spain and Mexico reflects a deep personal transformation and a commitment to a more fulfilling life.
