Brad Pitt’s Struggles with His Children and the Impact of Angelina Jolie
Brad Pitt, at 62, continues to be a symbol of Hollywood glamour. Recently spotted in Los Angeles with his girlfriend Ines de Ramon, who is 29 years his junior, he looked as if he had stepped out of a movie set. From his stylish mustache to his sharp jawline, he exuded the kind of charm that has made him an icon for both men and women. However, behind this image lies a deeply personal struggle that has left him completely estranged from all six of his children.
The rift between Pitt and his children stems from his former marriage to Angelina Jolie. Despite being a beloved figure among friends, colleagues, and the public, Pitt now finds himself cut off from his children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne. According to those close to him, the blame lies squarely on Jolie, who has allegedly orchestrated a campaign of alienation that has left Pitt completely isolated from his own family.
A friend confirmed this state of affairs, stating, “There has been a campaign of alienation [by Jolie] which has been successful. The antagonism is huge. He has been alienated from the kids completely. It is devastating to him.”
Only the twins, Knox and Vivienne, are under 18 and thus required to have court-mandated visits with their father. However, even these visits have become rare. As they approach adulthood, it is likely that any remaining contact will vanish entirely.
This painful separation can be traced back to a 2016 incident involving a private jet flight. Allegations surfaced that Pitt, while drunk, poured alcohol on his family, called Jolie “crazy,” punched the plane’s ceiling, and shoved her. He also reportedly choked a child. While he has always denied these claims, the fallout led to a significant strain on his relationship with his children.
Despite this, Pitt has managed to rebuild his career, earning his first Oscar for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood in 2020. Yet, his personal life remains marred by the events of 2016 and its aftermath.
Zahara’s recent graduation from Spelman College highlighted the extent of the estrangement. She received a BA in psychology, but there was no sign of her father. A source told TMZ, “Nothing prevented him from showing up for her. Or ever visiting her. The day was about all she accomplished. Not whether he was willing to attend.”
This has sparked outrage within Pitt’s camp, with one insider stating, “You can’t have it both ways – to promote a complete estrangement and then criticise someone for not going to an event when you’ve made sure that they would not be welcome.”
Zahara, like her siblings, has maintained a strong bond with Jolie. At a recent sorority event, she praised her mother as “the most selfless, loving and understanding woman.” This sentiment is echoed by other children, such as Pax, who once called Pitt a “terrible person” in a social media rant.
Pax, who adopted the name Pax Jolie, criticized Pitt for his lack of empathy towards his children. He added, “You will never understand the damage you have done to my family because you’re incapable of doing so.”
Shiloh, who changed her last name to Jolie, filed a petition to legally drop Pitt’s name on her 18th birthday. Similarly, Vivienne chose to go by Jolie during a recent musical performance.
Despite the distance, Pitt has not given up hope of reuniting with his children. A friend said, “He continues to hope that one day a reconciliation is possible.” The example of Alec Baldwin and his daughter Ireland, who have since reconciled, is often cited.
However, the future seems bleak. Jolie plans to leave Los Angeles soon, selling her historic mansion and relocating to Europe or Cambodia. This move will further distance her from Pitt, who primarily resides in LA.
Meanwhile, Pitt has found new love with Ines de Ramon, a sophisticated jewellery designer. Their relationship has been described as peaceful and supportive, though it appears marriage is not on the horizon. Friends say, “He has a great partner who he appreciates but there is no rush in that direction.”
With three films in the pipeline, including Heart of the Beast, Pitt’s career is thriving. Yet, the emotional toll of his strained relationships with his children remains a constant shadow.
