Sinitta Opens Up About Her Secret Relationship and Past Love Stories
Sinitta, the iconic pop star, has shared some fascinating details about her personal life in recent interviews. The 62-year-old singer revealed that she has been in a relationship for the past two years but chose to keep it private. Her decision to stay out of the spotlight was driven by a desire to protect her partner from the pressures of the entertainment industry.
During an appearance on Loose Women, Sinitta spoke about her time in the jungle on I’m A Celebrity… South Africa. She also opened up about how her experiences in the camp have influenced her real-life relationships. The singer described her current partner as a “Leeds lad” — someone with a lot of personality but not accustomed to the world of show business.
Keeping It Private
Sinitta explained that her partner is not in the entertainment industry and that she wanted to shield him from the intense scrutiny that comes with being in the public eye. She said:
“I don’t think he wants to be in show business, and you know I was doing something so high profile. He would be fine, you know, he’s silly, he’s got the best, worst, bad dad jokes and everything. He’s a character, he’s a funny guy, a Leeds lad.”
She added that their relationship had been on hold for a while because of the demands of her career. However, she now feels more comfortable sharing her happiness with the public.
A New Chapter
When asked by Charlene White if this new man was the reason behind her recent happiness, Sinitta responded:
“Might be it too. He’s much more afraid than I am.”
This suggests that while she is excited about her new relationship, her partner may still be adjusting to the idea of being in the public eye.
Reflecting on Past Relationships
Sinitta’s journey through love has been anything but straightforward. She had a long on-and-off relationship with Simon Cowell, which eventually evolved into a strong friendship. During her time on I’m A Celebrity… South Africa, she reflected on their past and admitted that she once believed they would get married.
She shared:
“He wasn’t a faithful boyfriend. He won’t mind me saying it, because he knows, and I was very possessive. I feel like Simon loves me and cares about me, but it’s just… I think I romanticise everything.”
Sinitta also acknowledged that she has moved on from that chapter of her life. She said:
“I was the right person for a time, but they’ve just got this whole level that we didn’t have.”

A Marriage That Wasn’t Meant to Be
In addition to her relationship with Simon Cowell, Sinitta has spoken openly about her marriage to ex-husband Andy Willner. She described it as a “revenge move” after their split. On the Suddenly Single podcast, she explained:
“I was trying to make that relationship it. His narrative was just be patient, and you’ll have everything you want. I assumed everything I wanted meant a normal family life with him. And then he met the love of his life and had a child. Silly me.”
Despite the challenges, Sinitta noted that the marriage did develop into something meaningful over time. She added:
“The man that I married was actually a lovely person. It was a bit of a revenge move at the time, but it developed into something. But even during that relationship, it was obvious that there was unfinished business [with Simon].”

Moving Forward
Sinitta’s story is one of resilience, growth, and self-discovery. From her time on I’m A Celebrity to her reflections on past relationships, she has shown a willingness to share her journey with her fans. As she continues to embrace her new chapter, it seems that the pop icon is finally finding peace and happiness in her personal life.
