Carmen Electra’s 9-day marriage to Dennis Rodman: The shocking truth revealed

Carmen Electra, a former Baywatch star and model, has shared the emotional journey of her marriage to Dennis Rodman, the former NBA player. In a recent appearance on the “Legally Golf” podcast, she opened up about the difficult decision to end their relationship in the 1990s.

“It was just too hard to keep up with him and his friends,” Electra, now 54, said during the interview. “It was constant drinking.” She reflected on how the pressures of their relationship made it impossible for her to continue.

The pair first met in 1998 at a nightclub, sparking a connection that led them to marry just a few months later. They tied the knot at the famous Little Chapel of the Flowers in Las Vegas in November 1998. However, their marriage didn’t last long, as Rodman sought an annulment just nine days after the wedding. Despite briefly reconciling, they eventually moved forward with a divorce in April 1999.

Electra described the short-lived romance as both intense and emotionally draining. She recalled not recognizing herself when looking in the mirror, saying, “I had bags under my eyes. My face was puffy. I’m in my 20s! I thought, ‘It’s got to stop. It has to stop.’”

“I just thought, ‘I’ve got to get away from him because what good is going to come out of this?’” she explained. “It was real love. It wasn’t a made-up story. It wasn’t a publicity stunt. It was real love. It’s sad but it had to end.”

The breakup was tough for both parties, with Electra recalling moments when Rodman showed a softer side, being “really sweet and cute and crying.” She remembered him wanting her back, but she chose to move on. “I would just give everything [he gave me] back — not everything. I kept the things that he gave me from when we were together but after that, I gave everything back. It was hard.”

Electra credited a self-help book she received from a friend around that time for helping her make the decision to leave the relationship. She took steps to distance herself, including moving and changing her phone number. “He would just come to my house and not leave,” she said. “He’d threaten to get naked again outside. I just didn’t want the police [to come]. It didn’t want it to turn into a big thing.”

In the past, Electra has spoken openly about her time with Rodman, calling it one of “the worst” periods in her life. “Our relationship was very passionate. When it was good, it was amazing,” she said during an October 2014 appearance on “Where Are They Now?” “And when it was bad, it was the worst.”

Her story highlights the complexities of high-profile relationships and the personal growth that can come from difficult decisions. While the romance may have ended, it remains a significant chapter in her life.
