Jennifer Lopez Reflects on Single Life and Future Love
Jennifer Lopez, the 56-year-old singer and actress, recently opened up about her personal life during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! The star, who has been busy promoting her upcoming Netflix film Office Romance, shared her thoughts on being single and her past relationship with Ben Affleck.
During the interview, Kimmel asked Lopez if she was currently single. She confirmed, “I am!” with a cheerful smile as the audience cheered in support. Lopez then expressed that she wished she had been single sooner, saying, “I’ve been doing it all wrong. I’ve been doing it all wrong, trust me.”

Kimmel then asked if she would consider becoming the next Bachelorette on ABC. Lopez quickly replied, “No,” shaking her head. “Are you crazy? I’m not doing anything to ruin how I feel right now.” She described being single as “fantastic” and mentioned that she might find love again in the future. “I’ll find somebody somewhere one day if they’re good enough,” she said nonchalantly.
Lopez is currently juggling a busy schedule as she prepares for the release of Office Romance on June 5. The rom-com stars Lopez alongside Brett Goldstein, along with Betty Gilpin, Edward James Olmos, Amy Sedaris, and Tony Hale. The film’s premise revolves around Jackie (Lopez), the CEO of Air Cruz, who enforces a strict anti-fraternization policy among her employees. When a new lawyer joins the team, this policy is put to the test.

Lopez shared her experience working with Goldstein during a recent appearance at the Netflix 2026 Upfront Red Carpet event in New York City. She praised his chemistry with her, saying, “We had great chemistry to begin with. It just grew as we did the film together.” She admitted she expected a more “rough guy” but found him to be kind, gentle, and charming. “That was a surprise, I think,” she added.
Lopez also revealed that she is a big fan of Goldstein’s performance as Roy Kent in Ted Lasso. “I thought he was going to be more like the character, but he was so soft-spoken and sweet and totally different,” she said.
A source previously told The Sun that Lopez and Goldstein’s chemistry on set was “electric,” with reports of them being “touchy, feely” and always laughing. Another insider noted that during the wrap party, they were “all over each other” during dinner and drinks with the rest of the cast. “They had a lot of fun while shooting; it was just what Jen needed after Ben Affleck. He put a smile on her face.”

Last year, during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Lopez called Goldstein the “best onscreen kisser.” She said, “I’m gonna say I just did a movie with Brett Goldstein, and I would say he was the best kisser.” At the Los Angeles premiere of their film, Goldstein returned the compliment, telling Entertainment Tonight that her kiss was “the best” and rated her skills a “12 out of 10.”
Divorce from Ben Affleck and Real Estate Updates
Lopez and Affleck’s divorce was finalized in February last year, months after she filed for divorce on their second wedding anniversary. In April of this year, it was revealed that Affleck gave Lopez his share of their $61 million marital mansion. The couple purchased the sprawling estate in May 2023 for $60,850,000 and have been trying to sell it since July 2024, with multiple price reductions.

Lopez recently put the home back on the market for the third time for $49,995,000, according to TMZ. Earlier this year, she moved into her new $18 million Hidden Hills home. During her conversation with Kimmel, she also shared emotionally that her 18-year-old twins, Max and Emme, will soon be moving out for college.
