Casey Donovan Shares Update on IVF Journey
Casey Donovan has shared a heartfelt update about her and fiancée Renee Sharples’ journey through IVF, revealing they are currently in the two-week wait following their first embryo transfer. In a recent Instagram post titled “Life Lately…The Two Week Wait,” she reflected on a week filled with joy and gratitude, thanking those who had brought light and love into their lives. She closed with a familiar phrase among those undergoing fertility treatments: “Now we wait… What will be, will be.”
This update comes after Casey previously shared news of their first embryo transfer via an emotional Instagram reel in April. In the video, she described returning from a busy weekend of performances in Sydney to Melbourne, where she was reunited with Renee. “I got the 6am flight back from Sydney to Melbourne and after a massive weekend of amazing shows in NSW it was great to be home into the loving arms of my love and put my legs up… Literally,” she said.
She also expressed her appreciation for the clinic and medical team that have supported them throughout their journey, ending with a message of solidarity for others on the IVF path: “Sending all of the love, light and baby dust to all who are on an IVF journey.”
A Long Road to Motherhood
For Casey, the path to motherhood has been a long and personal journey, closely tied to her health. She has openly discussed the physical challenges she faced during her first round of egg retrieval, including significant weight gain. “After my first IVF egg retrieval… I managed to put on about nine kilos in the space of a week, which is quite full-on, because the fluid just started building [up],” she explained on The Check Up With Woman’s Day podcast.
This experience made her reflect on how her body’s condition could impact her fertility treatment. “I wondered what would happen if I was at my heaviest and trying to do IVF – what would that do to my body?” she said. Her goal has since been to regain control over her weight and health to support her journey toward starting a family.

Focusing on the Future
Despite the emotional and physical challenges, having a baby remains the couple’s top priority for 2026. “Whether that’s through my biology or we end up adopting,” Casey told Woman’s Day in January. “Hopefully carrying a child – that would be a beautiful thing.”
Even as they navigate the ups and downs of fertility treatments, Casey continues to embrace life. She is currently touring, making music, and enjoying time with Renee. “I’m doing music, the one thing I love,” she says, “and I get to spend quality time with my beautiful fiancée – and maybe plan a wedding for 2030 when I get a hot minute to slow down!”
Through it all, Casey remains positive and hopeful, sharing her journey with her fans and offering support to others on similar paths. Her resilience and warmth continue to shine through, even in the most challenging moments.
