Jennifer Lopez made a surprise appearance on the US Today Show alongside Brett Goldstein, co-star of her new film Office Romance. The 56-year-old singer and actress was quick to address the persistent rumours that she and Goldstein are dating.
The conversation took an awkward turn when host Savannah Guthrie asked Lopez about the speculation. Lopez was clearly taken aback by the question and immediately shut it down.
“There’s never a time when I’m seen with somebody or working with somebody where they don’t try to put me with the person,” she said.
Goldstein chimed in, adding, “I think if you stand near her, that’s what happens.”
Guthrie responded with a witty remark, saying, “That’s what you wish would happen!”
Elsewhere in the interview, Guthrie mentioned that Goldstein had Lopez in his vision as the lead for Ted Lasso before casting even began. This revelation only added fuel to the fire of the ongoing rumours.
However, Guthrie pushed further, questioning whether Lopez’s response was actually an answer to the dating speculation.
“That was not an answer? It was an answer!” Lopez replied, pointing out that similar unfounded rumours have circulated about her in the past. She specifically mentioned previous speculation about her and Kevin Costner, among others.
Lopez added, “It happens all the time. Doesn’t make it true.”
Guthrie then asked, “OK, so you’re not dating in real life?”
“Not dating,” Lopez confirmed, shaking her head.
The conversation shifted to the upcoming fourth season of Ted Lasso, which Goldstein stars in. The discussion about their chemistry came after a clip played of Lopez revealing her best on-screen kiss during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
In that moment, Lopez admitted the kiss was from filming Office Romance and that it was Goldstein who was the best.
Rumours about a romantic connection between the co-stars started swirling during the press tour for the new movie. At the Office Romance premiere in New York last month, Lopez gushed about their chemistry.
“It just grew as we did the film together,” she told People.
“I expected more of a rough guy, but you get this kind, gentle but also very smart person that is so charming. That was a surprise, I think.”
Lopez has been married four times, most recently to Ben Affleck, who she filed for divorce from in August 2024. She was also married to Marc Anthony, Chris Judd, and Ojani Noa.
