Prior to his appointment as CTO Lahore, he served as the District Police Officer (DPO) Mandi Bahauddin, where he continued to build upon his reputation for effective leadership and administrative skills.

Priorities for the New CTO

On the occasion of his assumption of duty, CTO Lahore emphasized that ensuring safe travel for citizens and maintaining smooth traffic flow would be among his top priorities. He highlighted the importance of courteous behavior from all traffic staff towards road users, stating that a zero-tolerance policy against corruption would be strictly enforced.

This approach reflects a broader vision of improving public trust and efficiency in traffic management. The CTO’s focus on transparency and accountability is expected to bring about positive changes in how traffic is managed across the city.

Honoring the Past and Looking Ahead

In a symbolic gesture, CTO Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi visited the grave of Captain (R) Syed Ahmed Mubeen Shaheed after taking charge. There, he offered Fateha and a salute, recognizing the services of this brave officer. This act underscored his respect for the sacrifices made by those who came before him.

Later, the CTO conducted a tour of various model roads in the city to assess traffic management, flow, and operational arrangements. During the visit, Divisional Superintendents of Police (SPs) and Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) provided detailed briefings on traffic regulation measures and ongoing improvements on designated routes.

Improving Traffic Efficiency

During the inspection, CTO Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi evaluated traffic flow at different locations and issued instructions aimed at streamlining vehicular movement and enhancing on-ground efficiency. His directives were clear: traffic officers must ensure the implementation of the Chief Minister Punjab’s vision of citizen-friendly policing, emphasizing courteous behavior with the public.

These steps are part of a broader strategy to improve the quality of life for Lahore residents by making the city’s roads safer and more efficient. With the new leadership in place, there is hope for a more organized and responsive traffic management system that prioritizes the needs of all road users.
