Kelly Stafford, the wife of Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, has shared her reasons for taking a break from her popular podcast. Known for her previous work on ‘The Morning After’ podcast, Kelly revealed that the pressure and anxiety associated with each episode became overwhelming.
In a post to her Instagram story, Kelly expressed that recording each episode left her dreading how her words might be interpreted or twisted once the show was released. She mentioned that the anticipation of what headlines might be created from the episodes added to her stress.
“What I don’t miss is the anxiety I used to get the night before every episode was released wondering what headline was going to be created from the episode,” Kelly said. “It just felt like my name was in the headlines every week and that is not what I wanted this podcast for. So that is a big reason why I took a break. I needed a mental break.”
Later in the video, Kelly hinted that the podcast may not return at all.

“It was really nice just being there and supporting and being with my kids and Matthew all last season and not having to worry about it,” she said.
Despite this admission, she did share that she missed the microphone. “I really do miss it,” she said. “I think you can do a lot of good with a podcast if you do it right. So I’m trying to figure out what that looks like and still be super enjoyable for you all. So stay tuned on that. I’m working on it. And once there is a decision that I’ve made, I promise you, you’ll know.”
Episodes of the show saw Kelly and her co-host and friend Hank Winchester cover multiple topics both in and out of football. The show explored her gameday experiences as a wife and what it means to live with a star NFL quarterback. Kelly also delved into her past and personal life, featuring multiple guests, including the Rams star himself.
