Choosing to bat first at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Rajasthan Royals faced a tough beginning. Their openers, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, were dismissed within the first two overs by Mitchell Starc and Kyle Jamieson, leaving the team at 12/2 in the powerplay.

Despite some late pressure, Delhi Capitals managed to chase down the target comfortably, securing seven wickets and five balls to spare. This victory kept their playoff hopes alive.
Parag Reflects on Middle Overs Performance
After the match, Parag acknowledged that the team had a good score but failed to maintain their composure during the critical middle overs. He stated:
“I think it was a good score. I thought 200 was a par score here. It was going to slow down a bit, but I think we could have bowled way better in the middle overs not let them get away a little too much. And then a lot of boundaries in one single over and that repeated. So I felt we missed the trick with that but no harm with the decision we made.”
Parag stood by the decision to bat first but clearly identified the bowling performance in the middle overs as the key factor that separated the two teams. He emphasized that the team “missed the trick” during this phase of the innings.
Addressing Criticism and Focus on Team Performance
Parag also addressed any criticism he has been facing regarding his form and off-field issues. He clarified that external opinions do not affect him, as his primary focus is on the team’s performance.
He concluded:
“I don’t think I need to answer any critics or anyone talking about it. But at the end of the day my job is to get two points. So my score and my innings don’t really matter if we lose the game.”

With this loss, Rajasthan Royals now find themselves in fourth place on the table. Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals’ victory sees them rise to sixth position, just four points away from the playoff qualification zone.
