MAFS star Tony Mojanovski admits guilt after deadly threat to nephew

A Former MAFS Contestant Faces Legal Consequences

A former contestant from the popular television show Married At First Sight (MAFS) has appeared in a New South Wales court after making a threatening statement during a heated business dispute. Tony Mojanovski, 54, co-owned a fishing charter business with his nephew when the situation escalated into a volatile argument.

The incident occurred in November 2025 when Tony contacted his nephew to discuss work. The conversation began normally, but it quickly turned tense when the nephew explained he was unable to come in that day. According to court documents, the exchange “quickly turned volatile.”

The nephew, sensing the situation was getting out of hand, decided to record the call on his wife’s phone. The audio captured Tony making a chilling threat: “I’m gonna kill you.”

The police were notified, and Tony was subsequently arrested and taken to Illawarra Police Station. Initially, he denied the allegations, claiming he did not remember making the threats. However, when detectives played him the recording, he admitted, “There you go, that’s what I said.”

On Wednesday, Tony appeared before Wollongong Local Court and pleaded guilty to a charge of intimidation. Magistrate David Williams acknowledged that the outburst was out of character for Tony, describing him as a man of good standing with no prior history of violence.

Instead of receiving a conviction, Tony was placed on a 12-month conditional release order, which requires him to maintain good behavior. During the court hearing, Tony expressed remorse for the incident, stating it was an uncharacteristic moment caused by extreme pressure.

“It’s just a mistake I made. I’m not an aggressive person, I’ve never been in a fight. He just pushed me to my limits,” he told the court.

This legal case comes after Tony was hospitalized in April last year due to a heart attack, which required emergency open-heart surgery, including a coronary artery bypass graft. At the time, he spoke from his hospital bed about the warning signs he had ignored—persistent chest pressure, fatigue, and what he had dismissed as heartburn.

“It caught up with me,” he admitted, pointing to years of smoking, stress, and a demanding lifestyle on the water.

Tony first gained public attention in the 2025 season of MAFS, where he was matched with Morena Farina. His journey on the show brought him into the spotlight, but this recent legal issue highlights the challenges he has faced both personally and professionally.
