Ada and Chris lead Resident Evil Requiem DLC, latest rumour claims

Upcoming DLC for Resident Evil Requiem

Capcom is preparing to release the first part of the DLC for Resident Evil Requiem this month. However, it’s important to note that this initial addition will not include any story content.

Just over two months after the successful launch of Resident Evil Requiem, Capcom has announced that a new piece of downloadable content will be made available later this month. While an exact date has not been confirmed, the game’s director, Koshi Nakanishi, previously mentioned that a free minigame, similar to The Mercenaries, will be released in May.

As fans are eagerly waiting for more details, a new rumour has surfaced suggesting that a story-based DLC titled Extraction will also be released this month. However, this claim has been dismissed as ‘bulls***’ by a well-known Resident Evil insider, Dusk Golem. In a post on X, Dusk Golem refuted the rumour from an alleged datamining source but did not completely rule out the possibility of the DLC featuring Leon S. Kennedy and Ada Wong.

“I’ve said before I believe Ada will be involved with [Resident Evil Requiem’s] DLC. But this specific rumour, that in May a DLC called Extraction with Leon and Ada in it, is bulls***,” they wrote. “That’s not what’s releasing.”

Rumours and Insider Information

Earlier this year, Dusk Golem expressed their belief that Ada Wong will appear in the planned story DLC for Resident Evil Requiem. This belief was based on a supposed ‘slip up’ that accidentally became public, although they did not specify exactly what it was.

On Reddit, another rumour from a Chinese leaker claimed that two story expansions are planned for the game. One would involve Alyssa Ashcroft and Leon S. Kennedy, while the other would feature Chris Redfield and Ada Wong. Nakanishi confirmed in March that development on a story expansion is underway, but he emphasized that it will take some time to complete without providing a specific release date or window.

If Ada Wong is indeed included in the DLC, it could lead to more speculation about the identity of Leon S. Kennedy’s wife. In Resident Evil Requiem, Leon is seen wearing a wedding ring, but it remains unclear who he is married to.

However, those hoping for answers in the DLC might be disappointed, as Nakanishi has previously downplayed the inclusion of this detail in interviews. He mentioned that the wedding ring was meant to illustrate how much Leon has changed over time.

Future of the Resident Evil Series

Based on comments from a recent interview on Eurogamer, it seems that Leon will continue to play a significant role in the Resident Evil series for many years to come. This suggests that the character may not be settling into married life anytime soon.
