The Rumours of a New Romance
Recent whispers have sparked interest in the possibility of a romantic connection between Christine McGuinness and Nicola Adams. The former professional boxer has been open about her feelings, sharing a video on Instagram where she jokingly expressed being “crazy” about a woman. This came shortly after she and Christine were seen together at an event.
The pair attended the DIVA Awards, where they appeared to be inseparable throughout the night. The celebration was dedicated to honoring LGBTQ+ figures, adding another layer to their public appearance. According to reports, the couple “looked like they were a couple,” although neither has officially confirmed the relationship yet.
Nicola, now 43, recently posted on her Instagram with a caption that read: “Them: ‘You’re not that crazy about that woman’.” She then responded with a clip of herself dancing with her eyes closed, interspersed with scenes of Evan Peters from Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story. She added the hashtag #wlw in the post, which resonated with her fans, who responded with laughter emojis.
A Trailblazer in Sports and Entertainment
Nicola made history in 2012 by becoming the first woman to win an Olympic Women’s Boxing Gold Medal, earning her an OBE. Her achievements didn’t stop there; she also made waves in the 2020 series of Strictly Come Dancing as part of the first-ever same-sex pairing with pro dancer Katya Jones. However, she had to withdraw from the competition a few weeks into the season.
In an interview with The Sun on Sunday last year, Nicola reflected on her time with Katya. She mentioned that they still talk and believed they could have gone further in the competition. “She really got the best out of me, and I liked the fact she had just as much energy as I did, so we were able to really get the dance moves right,” she shared. “It was a good partnership.”

Navigating Past Relationships
In the same interview, Nicola discussed her previous relationship with Ella Baig, with whom she had been for seven years before their split in 2025. She admitted that Ella’s career as an OnlyFans model had an impact on their relationship, leading them to amicably end things. “I don’t want a rebound relationship, I just want to focus on my work and being a good mum,” she said at the time.
Nicola and Ella now co-parent their son, Taylor Nate, who was born via IVF in July 2022. While Nicola and Christine have not made anything official, the fact that both have children might be helping their relationship blossom. A close friend of the boxer told the Daily Mail that Nicola and Christine would make a good match as they are both navigating the aftermath of long-term relationships and have children.

Personal Boundaries and Family Life
The Real Housewives of Cheshire star has been open about her stance on having more children. In a podcast called It Started With A Kiss, she revealed that she doesn’t want any more children, which has caused some challenges in her past relationships. “A lot of the women that I meet usually don’t have children and they want children, whereas I’ve had them,” she explained. “So that’s something that I try and be honest about at the beginning to anybody that I’m even talking to.”
She added that she is always upfront about her boundaries. “Eventually it gets to the point where… my woman’s going, ‘When am I going to meet the kids?’” she said. Nicola and her ex-husband Paddy McGuinness co-parent their twins, Penelope and Leo, aged 13, and Felicity, aged 10. Despite their divorce, they still live at home together.
