A New Chapter for Bee Shaffer and Francesco Carrozzini
Bee Shaffer, daughter of the iconic Anna Wintour, has announced her separation from her husband Francesco Carrozzini after nearly eight years of marriage. The 38-year-old film producer and the Italian director tied the knot in July 2018, and together they welcomed their son three years later. The couple shared a joint statement, saying, “After ten wonderful years together, we have decided to separate.” They emphasized that they will continue to maintain a close friendship and a positive co-parenting relationship for their four-year-old son.
“Although our career paths led us in different directions, we remain the very best of friends and devoted, committed parents to our son,” the statement added. The pair concluded by requesting privacy, stating, “This is the only statement we will make, and we respectfully ask for privacy.”

A Recent Appearance at the Met Gala
Just two weeks before the announcement, Shaffer and Carrozzini were seen together on the red carpet at the 2026 Met Gala, held on May 4. Shaffer wore a sleeveless red dress adorned with floral details, while Carrozzini opted for a classic black suit and bowtie. The couple’s presence at the event highlighted their continued connection despite the impending split.
Shaffer, who is the daughter of former Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, married Carrozzini in July 2018. The Italian-born director is no stranger to the world of fashion, as his late mother, Franca Sozzani, was the former editor-in-chief of Italian Vogue. Their wedding took place in Long Island, with a private ceremony that included a strict no social media policy for guests. Only a week later, the couple exchanged vows again in Portofino, Italy, during a second ceremony.
During the Long Island ceremony, Shaffer wore an ivory dress that ended just above her ankles, paired with a white lace veil and gold strappy heels. Carrozzini dressed in a classic navy suit, white dress shirt, and tie. The couple had confirmed their engagement in March 2017, and their son was born in October 2021.
A Shared Life and Family Moments
Shaffer and Carrozzini have occasionally shared glimpses of their life together on social media. Their son, Oliver, has appeared in several posts over the years. In October of last year, Shaffer posted a series of photos celebrating his fourth birthday, including images of him enjoying a pirate-themed party.
While Shaffer has built a career in entertainment, she has not followed in her mother’s footsteps in the fashion industry. She is a producer who previously worked on Late Night With Seth Myers and has since focused on Broadway shows such as Parade and The Last Five Years. During a past interview with Teen Vogue, she shared one quality she learned from her mother: punctuality.
“I’m very punctual. And, I actually don’t understand when people are late. It’s so easy to be on time!” she said.
Carrozzini, on the other hand, works as a director and photographer. He has directed music videos for artists such as Lana Del Rey, Jay-Z, Beyoncé, and Lenny Kravitz.
A Rare Appearance Together
In April of this year, Wintour and Shaffer made a rare appearance together at the opening night of the Broadway play The Fear of 13 in New York City. Shaffer looked stylish in a white dress with red-patterned details, while her mother also made a fashionable appearance on the red carpet. Just days later, the mother-daughter duo reunited at the premiere of The Devil Wears Prada.
