Royal Family Reunites for Peter Phillips’ Wedding
After a long period of seclusion, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie are set to make a public appearance at their cousin Peter Phillips’ wedding next month. The two sisters, aged 37 and 36 respectively, have been invited to the ceremony, which is scheduled for June 6. This will be their first public engagement with the royal family since the release of the Epstein files and the arrest of their father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
A source close to the royal family stated that the King has always wanted his nieces to remain part of the family. “The Royal Family needs good news and nothing unites like a big church wedding,” the source added. Beatrice is confirmed to attend the event, while Eugenie, who is in her second trimester of pregnancy, hopes to join as well.
Since the Epstein files revealed deeper connections between their parents and the late Jeffrey Epstein, the pair have remained out of the public eye. This has led to their exclusion from major royal events, including a significant gathering in April to celebrate the centenary of Queen Elizabeth II’s birth. They have not visited their father since his exile to Sandringham and subsequent arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office. However, no charges have been filed, and he has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
Peter Phillips, the son of Anne, Princess Royal, and the late Queen’s eldest grandson, will marry Harriet Sperling on June 6 in a private ceremony at All Saints Church in Cirencester, a Cotswolds township. The choice of venue is due to its proximity to Gatcombe Park, where Anne, the Princess Royal, has lived for 50 years. Phillips and Sperling also reside there.
For Princess Eugenie, this wedding marks a special time as she recently announced her third pregnancy. Just hours after sharing the news, she returned to social media, marking a significant step after months of silence. She celebrated her husband, Jack Brooksbank, on his 40th birthday just before revealing the baby news.
Eugenie was recently spotted in the background of a photo taken at the Italian society wedding of Charles Forte and Georgie Wright. If the sisters attend their cousin’s nuptials, they will join several members of the royal family, including King Charles and Queen Camilla, Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, and his wife, Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh. Zara and Mike Tindall, Prince William, the Prince of Wales, and Catherine, the Princess of Wales, are also expected to be present.
It is important to note that neither their father nor their mother, Sarah Ferguson, will be in attendance at the wedding.
