Lenovo Launches Legion 300W GaN4.0 Charger Under $60

Introducing the New Lenovo Legion 300W GaN Charger

Lenovo has recently unveiled a new 300W Legion GaN charger, along with several other products such as the Lenovo Yoga Air 14 Ultra and the Lenovo Legion Y70 smartphone. While laptop chargers are often considered the least exciting component of a gaming setup, Lenovo seems to be targeting a growing demand for more portable and efficient charging solutions.

Key Features of the Legion 300W GaN Adapter

The new Legion 300W GaN adapter leverages GaN4.0 technology, enabling it to deliver high power output in a significantly smaller form factor compared to traditional adapters. According to Lenovo, the charger is compact, with a body footprint of 82 x 82 x 33mm, making it easier to carry around without the need for oversized power bricks typically associated with high-performance gaming laptops.

This charger supports Lenovo’s proprietary 20V/15A fast charging protocol and is specifically designed for Legion gaming laptops that operate in performance mode.

Design and Durability Enhancements

The adapter features a three-prong grounded plug design, which Lenovo claims helps prevent static leakage. Additionally, the company states that the charger can maintain a stable 300W output by operating within a “golden voltage range” between 200V and 240V.

In terms of durability, the charger includes a reinforced Slim square connector, soft rubber reinforcement around the cable, and a 1.5-meter charging cable included in the box. An optional version of the adapter comes with a digital display that can show real-time charging power through what Lenovo calls its “AI Power” monitoring system.

Compatibility and Availability

The Legion 300W GaN adapter is compatible with a wide range of Legion laptops from 2023 through 2026, including models in the Legion 7000P, 7000X, 9000P, and 9000X series. Lenovo also mentions that other laptops using its Slim square charging connector may technically work with the adapter, though charging performance could vary depending on the system and BIOS limitations.

The Legion 300W GaN adapter is priced at 399 yuan (~ $58) in China and will officially go on sale on May 31.
