South Korean Brand Updates Torres SUV with Engine, Transmission, and Physical Button Upgrades
KGM has recently unveiled a refreshed version of its Torres SUV in the South Korean market. While the changes have been implemented locally, it remains uncertain when these updates will reach other regions such as Australia.
The KGM Torres, which was introduced in Australia just a year ago, has undergone significant modifications. The new model features a more powerful engine, an updated automatic transmission, and the return of physical buttons for essential controls.
At the heart of the update is a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that delivers improved performance. The power output has increased by 5kW, reaching 125kW, while torque has also seen an increase of 20Nm, now standing at 300Nm.
Previously, the Torres was equipped with a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission. However, this has been replaced with an eight-speed Aisin unit. This new transmission can be optionally paired with either two-wheel or all-wheel drive configurations.
