Lisa Rinna Attacks Spencer Pratt’s LA Mayoral Bid and Slams Trump

Lisa Rinna Criticizes Spencer Pratt’s Bid for Los Angeles Mayor

Lisa Rinna, a well-known figure from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, has voiced her disapproval of Spencer Pratt’s campaign for the position of mayor of Los Angeles. At the American Music Awards on Monday, she was asked who should be the next mayor of her home city.

Rinna responded to Variety reporter Marc Malkin by saying, “That is a good question.” She then made it clear that she does not believe a reality TV star should hold such a significant role. “I am gonna say I don’t know yet. Not a reality star, though. I’m sorry. I love him, but we’ve already done that, we’re not going to do that again,” she said while wearing a tie with a print of President John F. Kennedy’s face.

Her comments were a subtle reference to former President Donald Trump, who hosted the reality TV show The Apprentice before transitioning into politics. As a former soap opera star, Rinna acknowledged that she herself is a reality TV personality. However, she emphasized that this does not make her suitable for a political role.

“I’m a reality person,” she said. “You wouldn’t want me as mayor, really. I mean, let’s just face it.”

Despite her criticism of Pratt, Rinna expressed admiration for him. “I love him and think he’s amazing,” she added. However, she believes that someone with more political experience would be a better choice for the position. “Let’s have somebody that’s already been mayor, the mayor of San Jose, or whoever,” she stated.

Pratt, who rose to fame through the reality series The Hills in the 2000s, entered the political arena after his home in the Pacific Palisades was destroyed in a fire last year. This forced him to live out of a trailer and various hotels. When he faced criticism for staying at the luxurious Hotel Bel-Air, he responded on X: “Hey guys, why don’t they wanna talk about why I need a hotel in the first place? Karen Bass let my home burn down. Also, 6,000 of my neighbors. NBD.”

Throughout his campaign, Pratt has frequently criticized current Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and city councilwoman Nithya Raman. His campaign has seen considerable success, raising over $500,000 since January, surpassing Bass’ fundraising total during the same period, according to campaign finance records reviewed by People.

In addition to her comments on Pratt, Rinna has also made headlines for mocking another reality TV star, Kylie Jenner. In April, she posted a series of photos re-creating a beach photo shoot featuring Jenner and her boyfriend Timothee Chalamet. Rinna and her husband, Harry Hamlin, imitated the poses while vacationing in the Caribbean, soaking in crystal clear waters just like the couple.

This event came shortly after Rinna celebrated her 29th wedding anniversary with Hamlin. The actress, who has two daughters, Delilah, 27, and Amelia, 24, shared a heartfelt tribute to the Mad Men actor on social media.

“29 years married to Harry Hamlin ❤️ The love of my life, sexiest man alive, chef extraordinary, best husband and father… I love you more every day,” she captioned a post filled with photos of the couple throughout their decades-long relationship.

The post was accompanied by the Whitney Houston ballad I Have Nothing. Rinna noted, “I think this might have been our first dance song… idk 30 years is a long time [crying laughing emoji]. But it was definitely Whitney Houston!”

She added, “One of the best days of my life, followed by the birth of my girls. So grateful for this beautiful family of ours.”
