Jalen Hurts Addresses AJ Brown ‘Feud’ After Missing Wedding

Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown: A Friendship Under Scrutiny

Despite the recent speculation surrounding their relationship, Jalen Hurts has made it clear that his bond with AJ Brown remains strong. The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback recently addressed rumors about their friendship, emphasizing that nothing has changed between them.

Hurts was asked about the possibility of trading Brown away, a topic that has been circulating as the wide receiver is expected to leave the franchise this offseason. In a moment that seemed awkward, Hurts picked up a drink beside him and took a sip before responding. “Picked the right question to sip on, huh?” he said, highlighting the tension in the conversation.

Hurts continued, saying, “For us, we’re only focused on learning the offense.” He added, “It really doesn’t change in terms of our approach to improve. There’s an ‘if’… obviously it’s been a lingering thing, but nothing can replace all of the greatness that we achieved together.”

When asked about the state of their friendship amid the speculation, Hurts responded, “Nothing’s changed. … We’re really good.” He went on to express his happiness for Brown and his wife, Kelsey Riley, stating, “I saw how beautiful the pictures came out at his wedding. I’m very happy for him and his wife and his family. It’s a beautiful thing to step into convenance so I was very excited and congratulatory towards that.”

The pair were once considered best friends, according to ESPN. They have known each other since high school, and Hurts is the godfather to Brown’s daughter, Jersee. However, a source revealed towards the end of the 2024 season that things “weren’t good” between them. At the same time, Eagles icon Brandon Graham speculated that their friendship was on the rocks.

Their on-field relationship has also seemed off, with instances where they connected for a touchdown but did not celebrate or address each other. Despite that, Hurts said in January that he and Brown had “talked” and were “in a great place” after the Eagles’ season ended in the first round of the playoffs against the San Francisco 49ers.

Brown tied the knot with Riley in a luxurious wedding at the jaw-dropping Montage Laguna Beach resort earlier this month.

According to TMZ, guests arrived at the lavish hotel in the afternoon and took their seats for the 5pm ceremony overlooking the ocean. They were greeted by a violinist performing. Guests were reportedly specifically asked to wear brown to the wedding, while the couple’s son, Arthur Juan, was given a stirring reception as he made his way down the aisle.

On offer were mini lobster rolls and mini tacos, with no expense spared on the catering for the wedding party to enjoy. Security is claimed to have been particularly tight, with a number of walkways blocked off and guards patrolling the property throughout the celebrations.

Riley, a 28-year-old graduate of Texas State, is believed to have been with Brown since 2022 – his first season with the Eagles. The couple share a three-year-old son together, Arthur Juan Brown Jr., while Brown is also the father of daughter Jersee, who was born in May of 2020.
