A number of well-known BBC personalities have publicly shown their support for Scott Mills’ husband following his return to social media.
Sam Vaughan, who first met Scott at a radio event in 2016, shared a post on Instagram marking their second anniversary two months after the former Radio 1 host’s dismissal from the network. Scott, 53, was removed from his breakfast slot in March 2026 due to historic allegations of sexual misconduct involving a teenager.
In the post, Sam shared a photo of the couple holding hands as they walked down the aisle in tuxedos after their wedding in Spain. The image received over 15,000 likes, with several of Scott’s former BBC colleagues expressing their support. Zoe Ball commented: “2 years [heart] Love you [four red heart emojis].” Rylan Clark and Sara Cox also added a series of hearts in the comments section.

This follows a recent emotional moment for Rylan Clark, who spoke about the impact of ‘cancel culture’ during an appearance on ITV’s The Assembly. The 37-year-old described it as “really tough” when asked how he felt about friends being cancelled.
Sara Cox, who has been a close friend and colleague of Scott at the BBC for three decades, attended Scott and Sam’s wedding in 2024. She has also been a guest on various BBC programs throughout her career.
Scott first joined BBC Radio 1 in 1998 as the host of the early morning breakfast show before taking over from Sara as maternity cover in the early evening. In 2022, he moved to Radio 2, replacing Steve Wright, and later returned to breakfast in January 2025, taking over from Zoe Ball. He remained in that role until his dismissal from the BBC in March 2026.
Scott had previously faced questioning in 2018 regarding allegations linked to activities between 1997 and 2000. However, the case was dropped due to a lack of evidence. It was later revealed that the BBC had been aware of the allegations at the time, but current management is believed to have been unaware of the victim’s age.

The BBC issued a statement confirming that they had “terminated” Mills’ contracts, citing “new information.” Since then, the DJ and Celebrity Race Across the World star has reportedly taken legal action against the BBC, expressing frustration over his sacking.
In addition to losing his job, an episode of Celebrity Bake Off was pulled from broadcast in April 2026, which would have featured him. That same month, it was also confirmed that he would no longer be hosting the Race Across the World podcast.
Currently, Scott is receiving support from his husband Sam at their home in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire.
