A Nostalgic Look Back at Friends and the Stars Who Graced Its Set
Jennifer Aniston recently took a trip down memory lane, reflecting on her time on Friends and sharing some rare insights about her former husband, Brad Pitt. During an interview with former co-star Lisa Kudrow for Variety’s Actors on Actors series, the two discussed their experiences on the iconic NBC sitcom and the many celebrity guest stars who appeared throughout its 10-season run.

Kudrow mentioned the Thanksgiving episodes, which she called “great,” and specifically highlighted Pitt’s appearance. “When Brad was on, that was hilarious,” she said. Aniston agreed, adding, “How funny.” Pitt made his memorable appearance on Friends in 2001 while still married to Aniston. In Season 8’s “The One with the Rumor,” he played Will Colbert, a former classmate who had a strong dislike for Rachel Green, Aniston’s character. The episode also revealed that his character was part of an “I Hate Rachel” club with Ross Geller, played by David Schwimmer.
This particular episode remains one of the sitcom’s most talked-about celebrity cameos and continues to be a fan-favorite years later.
The Big Names Who Made Cameo Appearances

Aniston also recalled how Friends welcomed some of the entertainment industry’s biggest names, many of whom were surprisingly intimidated by the famous set. She listed off several stars, including Brad Pitt, Bruce Willis, Julia Roberts, Isabella Rossellini, and Sean Penn. According to Aniston, even seasoned actors often struggled with the unique rhythm of the sitcom.
“I always found it fascinating how nervous they were,” she said. Kudrow chimed in, asking, “Well, because what’s the tone? It’s not theater; it’s for TV. It’s not a movie. What the h— is this?” Aniston quickly finished her thought: “Just louder!”
A Friendly Relationship Between Aniston and Pitt

Despite ending their marriage in 2005 after five years together, sources have confirmed that Aniston and Pitt have maintained a cordial relationship over the years. An insider told Entertainment Tonight that “Brad and Jen are still friends. They talk and have a nice, friendly, cordial relationship.”
After their split, Pitt moved on with Angelina Jolie, and the couple shared six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox. They finalized their divorce in 2019. Meanwhile, Aniston married Justin Theroux in 2015, and although they separated two years later, they have remained on good terms since ending their marriage.
