This Morning has been known for its lighthearted moments, but some of the most memorable ones come from unexpected places. Recently, the show’s hosts, Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, found themselves in stitches during a segment featuring fashion expert Jo Good.
Jo Good, 71, is no stranger to making bold statements, and this time was no different. During a link, she was modelling a clear plastic poncho when she made a comment that left the co-presenters in fits of laughter. “It’s wet and warm and I’m in a sheath!” she said, which sent Cat into a fit of giggles so intense she ended up on the floor. Ben, on the other hand, turned red-faced as he tried to recover from the sexual innuendo.
Cat continued the playful conversation by asking if Jo would be bringing out her “pussybow” for the segment. Jo responded with a cheeky remark, saying she would do it for Ben. Ben then quipped, “As long as you wear your sheath!” while Cat added, “Safety first!”
The humor didn’t stop there. Last week, during half-term, Sian Welby and Craig Doyle took over the show while Cat and Ben were away. The pair also found themselves in a situation that had them in hysterics. It all started during a soap segment about an upcoming EastEnders storyline.
The TV hosts were joined by ITV’s resident soaps expert, Sharon Marshall, to discuss what’s coming up on screen. However, things took an awkward turn when Sharon attempted to explain a plot line involving Zack Hudson and Vicki Fowler. She began by saying, “Now, EastEnders, what a mess. So, Sharon’s back, she’s going to find out that her brother is sleeping with her sister. Messy, messy!”
Sian and Craig were clearly taken aback by the comment. Sian interjected, asking, “Sorry, her brother is sleeping with her…?” Sharon continued, explaining the storyline before rolling a clip showing Zack and Vicki during their secret fling.
The storyline involves Zack, who is Letitia Dean’s character Sharon Watts’ half-brother, engaging in a romance with Vicki, Sharon’s adoptive half-sister. While they are part of the same family, Zack and Vicki are not related by blood. Their affair began earlier this year, with a kiss at Vicki’s hen do after tension between her and Ross (Alex Walkinshaw) started to grow.
Ross’ son Joel (Max Murray) previously assaulted Vicki after being radicalised online with misogynistic and sexist views. This led to Vicki giving Ross an ultimatum.
Realizing her mistake, Sharon quickly cleared up the confusion for the This Morning hosts: “It’s alright, it’s not a blood relation because Sharon was adopted. Although her brother is sleeping with her sister, they aren’t biologically related.”
Both Sian and Craig were seen bursting into laughter with relief as Sharon clarified the upcoming scenes. It was a moment that highlighted the importance of clear communication, especially in the world of television where misunderstandings can lead to some unforgettable moments.
