HP and Ferrari launch $5,599 AI laptop in major collaboration

Ferrari and HP have collaborated for the past two years to create a product that is far removed from traditional automotive engineering. This new creation, the HP Limited Edition Scuderia Ferrari AI PC, marks the first hardware collaboration between the two brands. Their partnership began in 2024 when HP became the title sponsor of the Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 team. The timing of this announcement, coinciding with the Monaco Grand Prix weekend, is not subtle, but the product itself offers more than just a marketing stunt.

Only 4,999 units will be produced, each numbered and serialized. This number is a nod to Ferrari’s well-known strategy of limiting production to maintain exclusivity. The laptop is set to go on sale through HP.com in the United States on June 12, 2026, with an MSRP of $5,599. For UK buyers, this translates to approximately £4,200.

What Two Years of Collaboration Actually Produced

Laptop collaborations between major brands often end up as simple logo exercises, but this one seems to be a genuine effort. Both design teams worked closely on every detail, ensuring that the result was more than just an HP laptop with Ferrari branding.

One of the most striking features is the underside of the laptop. The base is made of carbon fiber, with a transparent panel known as the “engine bay” that reveals the processor and cooling system. This design is inspired by the transparent engineering bays found on many Ferraris, emphasizing the philosophy of showcasing rather than hiding components. Each unit’s serial number is laser-etched onto the heat pipes visible through this panel.

The color scheme is Rosso Magma, the same finish used on some of Ferrari’s most iconic cars. The three-dimensional quality of the finish is achieved through CNC-machined anodized aluminum. The palm rest beneath the keyboard features a horizontal streak effect meant to evoke the blur of a fast-moving object.

The keyboard area was designed with Ferrari’s “eyes on the road, hands on the wheel” philosophy in mind. The haptic trackpad is completely hidden beneath a glass surface, with a light bar indicating its location.

Flavio Manzoni, Ferrari’s Chief Design Officer, described the laptop as “a true reflection of how Ferrari and HP set a cutting-edge manufacturing technology, where advanced material engineering and craftsmanship converge into a unique, uncompromising expression of performance, precision, innovation and refined design.”

The Specs Underneath All That Red

While the design is impressive, the hardware is no less significant. The configuration is similar to HP’s Zbook lineup, featuring an Intel Core Ultra X7 processor, Intel Arc graphics, 64GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD. According to HP, the platform delivers up to 180 TOPS, making it suitable for demanding AI workloads.

The 14-inch display is a 3K OLED panel with touch support, and the keyboard uses Ferrari’s own typeface with per-key RGB backlighting. Connectivity options include 64GB of LPDDR5x RAM, a 1TB SSD, Wi-Fi 7, two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, a USB-A port, HDMI, and an audio jack.

Every unit comes with a Poltrona Frau leather sleeve, made from the same Italian leather used in Ferrari car interiors. While a significant portion of the price reflects the materials and Ferrari’s involvement, the laptop is still a high-spec machine underneath its luxurious exterior.

As one reviewer noted, “value” isn’t the point here. Anyone spending nearly six thousand dollars on a laptop likely already knows that. What makes this product stand out is that both companies seem to have taken it seriously. For a cobranded product announced at a grand prix, that level of commitment is rare.
