Venice’s luxury hotel surge: 2026 redefines high-end stays

New Hotel Openings and Reopenings in Venice for 2026

Venice is experiencing a surge in new hotel openings and reopenings in 2026, with major luxury brands and restored historic properties enhancing the city’s already competitive hospitality landscape. As tourism continues to grow in the Veneto region, which includes Venice, the area recorded over 22 million arrivals and more than 74 million overnight stays in 2025. This trend highlights the increasing demand for diverse accommodation options that cater to different preferences and travel styles.

From restored palaces to private island retreats and new coastal resorts, the latest openings reflect how Venice is expanding beyond its traditional city-centre stays. Travelers now have access to a broader range of choices, including quieter locations and more experience-led hotels that offer unique cultural and recreational opportunities.

Here are some of the key openings and reopenings to watch out for in 2026.

Orient Express Palazzo Donà Giovannelli

Opened in March 2026, Orient Express Venezia marks the brand’s first hotel in Venice, located within the restored 15th-century Palazzo Donà Giovannelli in the Cannaregio district. The hotel brings this historic palace back into use after centuries, offering 47 rooms, suites, and residences.

Original features such as frescoes, high ceilings, and decorative details have been preserved, alongside modern interiors. Dining is led by three-Michelin-starred chef Heinz Beck, with a restaurant, bar, and lounge spaces inspired by the heritage of the Orient Express brand. The hotel will also host cultural programmes and curated experiences linked to Venice’s arts scene.

Airelles Palladio Venezia

Airelles Palladio Venezia is set to open in April 2026, marking the French luxury group’s first hotel in Italy. Located on the lagoon with views towards Venice’s historic centre, the property is designed to offer more space and privacy than typical city hotels. It will feature large suites, landscaped gardens, and a strong focus on wellness.

The opening reflects growing demand for quieter stays just outside the busiest parts of Venice, while still offering easy access to the city. This new addition caters to travelers seeking a more tranquil and exclusive experience.

Cavallino Bianco Caorle – Venezia

Opening in May 2026, Cavallino Bianco Caorle – Venezia is a five-star resort designed specifically for families. It is located in the coastal town of Caorle, around an hour from Venice, on the Adriatic Sea. The resort will include 101 suites and direct access to a Blue Flag beach. Facilities are designed for both children and adults.

Younger guests will have access to Lino Land, with activities, workshops, and sports, while adults can use a wellness centre with pools, saunas, and an adults-only rooftop spa with an infinity pool overlooking the sea. There will also be three restaurants, including dedicated dining spaces for families and children.

Danieli, A Four Seasons Hotel

Hotel Danieli is due to reopen in mid-2026 under the Four Seasons brand following a major renovation. The historic property, located near St Mark’s Square, is known for its Gothic architecture and views over the lagoon. The renovation will update rooms and public spaces while maintaining its original character.

The reopening marks the arrival of Four Seasons at one of Venice’s most iconic hotel addresses, with new dining concepts and upgraded services expected as part of the relaunch. This transformation ensures that the hotel remains a top choice for discerning travelers seeking luxury and tradition.
