Yes Band Postpones UK Tour Due to Steve Howe’s Surgery
Rock band Yes has had to reschedule their UK tour as 78-year-old guitarist Steve Howe undergoes essential surgery. The group was set to begin an 11-date European tour this month, starting in Glasgow on April 22nd. This decision comes after the band announced that Steve Howe needs time to recover from the operation.
Yes released a statement regarding the postponement: ‘The upcoming YES ‘Fragile’ UK and EU Tour, due to commence on 22nd April, has had to be postponed as guitarist Steve Howe requires an essential operation that requires recovery time. This decision has been made to ensure that Steve can return to the stage in full health and deliver the performances that fans deserve.’
The band is working hard to reschedule the UK and EU shows to a later date, with full details to be announced after Easter. Fans are encouraged to retain their tickets as they will be valid for the rescheduled dates. Meanwhile, tour dates currently being arranged for later in 2026 will proceed as planned.

Steve Howe and YES would like to thank their UK fans and hope for their continued support at this time.
A Legacy of Progressive Rock
Yes was founded by former frontman Jon Anderson and bassist Chris Squire in 1968 in London, alongside guitarist Peter Banks, keyboardist Tony Kaye and drummer Bill Bruford. Over the years, the band went through numerous line-up changes, featuring stars such as White and Rick Wakeman, exploring many musical styles.
Their hits include Owner Of A Lonely Heart, Roundabout and Long Distance Runaround. In 2017, Yes were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame alongside Joan Baez, Electric Light Orchestra and Journey.
Current Line-Up
Steve Howe is the only remaining member of his era, now joined by lead singer Jon Davison, drummer Jay Schellan, keyboard player Geoff Downes, and Billy Sherwood on bass. This current line-up continues to carry forward the legacy of one of the most influential progressive rock bands in history.
Looking Ahead
Despite the recent setback, the band remains committed to delivering high-quality performances to their fans. They are currently working on rescheduling the UK and EU tour dates, ensuring that all fans who have purchased tickets will be able to attend the new dates.
The band’s dedication to their craft and their fans is evident in their statement, which emphasizes the importance of Steve Howe’s full recovery before returning to the stage. This decision highlights the band’s commitment to maintaining the high standards that have made them a staple in the music industry for over five decades.
As the band continues to work on rescheduling their tour, fans can look forward to future performances that will showcase the talent and artistry that have defined Yes for generations.
