The 10 Netflix movies everybody’s watching this week as chart-topper bags 11,000,000 views

Weekly Spotlight on Netflix’s Top Films

It’s that time of the week again, when we take a look at which films have been capturing the attention of viewers across the globe. This week’s list has one notable absence — for the first time in 42 weeks, KPop Demon Hunters is not making an appearance. The Oscar-winning animated film has finally slipped out of the global top 10, which is a relief as we had run out of things to say about it.

Despite this change, this week’s chart still offers a range of compelling content, from non-English language titles to true crime documentaries and more.

10. Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man – 5,900,000 views

The Peaky Blinders film, which topped the charts last week with over 19,000,000 views, has seen a significant drop this week, with its audience nearly halving. The story follows Tommy returning from a self-imposed exile during World War II, facing a choice between his family and his country.

9. War Machine – 6,100,000 views

Another former chart topper, War Machine has also tumbled out of the top five this week despite adding more than six million viewers. 8. 40 Acres – 6,400,000 views

At number eight this week is this Canadian-produced sci-fi thriller from 2024. Set in a post-apocalyptic world, 40 Acres stars Danielle Deadwyler as the head of a family of African-American farmers, whose ancestors settled in Canada after the American Civil War. In a world ravaged by plagues and wars, the clan must defend their homestead against a fresh and somewhat cannibalistic threat.

7. Mardaani 3 – 6,300,000 views

This Indian Hindi-language action thriller film is a sequel to the 2019 film Mardaani 2 and the third instalment in the Mardaani Trilogy. 4. Eat Pray Bark – 7,000,000 views

If you’re a dog lover or a pet owner, this quirky comedy from Germany should be added to your watchlist. Eat Pray Bark centres on five eccentric dog owners whose pooches need some training. As a last resort, they sign up for a course with a legendary dog trainer in the Tyrolean mountains — but is it the dogs who need the training, or their humans?

3. Untold: The Death and Life of Lamar Odom – 8,400,000 views

This documentary delves into the life of NBA star Lamar Odom, whose career saw him win back-to-back championships with the LA Lakers. The film looks at his rise to fame, his high-profile marriage to Khloe Kardashian, and how it all came crashing down after an overdose in a Nevada brothel in 2015 left him on the brink of death.

2. Anaconda – 9,900,000 views

Snaking into the runner-up spot this week is a comedy that unites Jack Black and Paul Rudd as best friends who dream of remaking their favourite movie, Anaconda. Their midlife crisis leads them to the Amazon jungle, where life begins imitating art when a giant anaconda starts hunting them.
