Gregg Wallace’s Family Home Sale and Italian Adventure

A New Chapter for Gregg Wallace

Gregg Wallace, the former presenter of MasterChef, has shared exciting plans to sell his family home and embark on a five-month travel adventure across Italy. The 61-year-old broadcaster revealed his intentions in a video posted to his Instagram account, which boasts 235,000 followers. In the video, he appeared in what seemed to be his back garden, where he shared his vision for the future.

Wallace stated: “Big changes this year. Selling this, our family home, moving to a new area, trying to organise a life of adventure, travelling around Italy for five months of the year.” He emphasized that he is working towards creating a life filled with adventure as he prepares for this new chapter.

In addition to his travel plans, Wallace also mentioned his desire to homeschool his six-year-old son, whom he publicly revealed was diagnosed with autism in 2022. He said: “I want to take on that responsibility and, at the same time, trying to build a business with Ruth and Sarah – autism experts for helping families with autistic children. There is a lot going on.”

Wallace lives in Kent with his wife, Anne-Marie Sterpini, whom he married in 2016, and their young child. The couple has been navigating the challenges of raising a child with autism while also pursuing their respective careers.

In a separate post, Wallace was seen inside his family home, saying: “Big conversations going on now. What would you take? What would you leave behind? Don’t say you’d leave behind all of it.” This reflection highlights the emotional weight of his decision to sell their home and start anew.

Wallace was a prominent face of the BBC cooking competition MasterChef alongside John Torode for almost two decades. However, in November 2024, it was announced that he would step away from his role while misconduct allegations were investigated. Later, in July, he was sacked after a review upheld 45 of the 83 allegations against him, most of which occurred between 2005 and 2018. These included one instance of “unwelcome physical contact.”

As a co-presenter of the spin-off Celebrity MasterChef, Wallace issued an apology, stating he was “deeply sorry for any distress caused” and that he “never set out to harm or humiliate.” He later filed a lawsuit against the BBC and BBC Studios Distribution Limited, seeking up to £10,000 in damages over allegations that they failed to disclose his personal data, which caused him “distress and harassment.” However, he discontinued the High Court case earlier this year.

Despite the challenges he has faced, Wallace continues to focus on his family and new ventures. His commitment to supporting families with autistic children reflects his dedication to making a positive impact beyond the television screen. As he embarks on this new journey, the support of his loved ones and the community will undoubtedly play a crucial role in his success.
