Rick Ross shares shocking near-death injury from belly flop

A Journey of Resilience and Reinvention

Rick Ross, the legendary rapper and entrepreneur, is on the verge of celebrating a significant milestone in his career—20 years since he first rose to fame. The journey from a young musician to a mogul has been marked by perseverance, creativity, and an unrelenting drive to push boundaries.

In 2006, Ross released his debut album, Port of Miami, which was certified platinum and set the stage for what would become a highly successful career. Over the years, he has evolved not just as a musician but also as a business leader, building a portfolio that includes a record label and numerous ventures.

Now, Ross is preparing to release his third memoir, Renaissance of a Boss: Notes from a Creative Reawakening. This book delves into how he overcame a creative slump and redefined his approach to music and life. It’s a reflection of his journey, filled with lessons learned and experiences that have shaped him into the person he is today.

A Mansion of Success

One of the most impressive symbols of Ross’s success is his lavish property in Georgia, known as The Promise Land. This mansion, once home to boxing legend Evander Holyfield, was sold at auction in 2012 for $7.5 million. Ross acquired it for $5.8 million in 2014 and later expanded the estate by adding 87 acres for an additional $1 million.

The 54,000-square-foot mansion sits on 235 acres and is the largest single-family home in Georgia. It’s not just a residence; it’s a testament to Ross’s hard work and dedication. The property is also famous for its massive residential pool, where Ross has hosted legendary pool parties. He even had a close call when attempting a daring jump called “The Double Decker Slapper” into the pool.

“I almost broke my f**king leg… But it was fun,” he shared during an exclusive interview with The Daily Mail at a Spotify Audiobooks party. “But we’re gonna have a pool party after the car show on June 13. You know, that’s just how we celebrate. So look forward to that. That’s just one of those fun times.”

From Humble Beginnings to Stardom

Ross’s story began in Mississippi, where he was born before moving to Carol City, Florida. His early life was marked by challenges, including a brief stint as a correctional officer—a fact he initially tried to deny. However, now, with 12 albums under his belt, he looks back on those struggles with gratitude.

“I appreciate a lot of the falls. I understand them. They prepared you for, you know what I’m saying, the upside,” he told The Daily Mail. “So it’s just one of those things that you got to appreciate, you got to love, you know what I mean? If it was anything, I could have told a younger Rick Ross, ‘man, you so much closer. Don’t quit, homie.’ That’s like being a senior in school and you drop out right before you f**cking graduate. Don’t do it. Don’t quit.”

A New Album and Creative Challenge

Despite his many achievements, Ross is not content to rest on his laurels. He is currently working on his 12th studio album, Set In Stone, which he sees as an opportunity to challenge himself creatively.

“I challenged myself musically. That’s what the renaissance is about, it’s not getting to a point where you feel you at a ceiling,” he said. “Not only should I put out a dope album, it should be f**king challenging any body of work I ever released. And so that’s what the challenge to myself was. So a lot of the records that I put on it sonically and just the way I feel, you know, what the game needed as my contribution… I’m gonna be excited the day it’s released.”

A Celebration of Art and Community

At a recent event held at The Peppermint Club in West Hollywood, Ross celebrated the release of his memoir and shared an excerpt with fans. The event featured a Q&A session and an intimate performance, highlighting the deep connection he has with his audience.

His memoir, Renaissance of a Boss: Notes from a Creative Reawakening, will be released on May 12. Fans are already eager to dive into the stories and insights that Ross has to share.
