Cleveland Guardians Secure Victory Over Orioles
In a thrilling game that took place on Sunday in Cleveland, Ohio, the Guardians emerged victorious against the Orioles with a final score of 8-4. This win marked their third out of four games against Baltimore, showcasing their strong performance in the series.
José Ramírez was a standout performer for the Guardians, hitting two home runs in the fourth and fifth innings. His impressive display helped him set a new franchise record for multi-homer games, reaching 28. Additionally, Ramírez moved into second place in Cleveland history with 138 home runs at home, surpassing Earl Averill.
Brayan Rocchio also contributed significantly to the team’s success, recording three hits and three RBIs. In the fourth inning, Juan Brito hit a two-run double, while Rocchio added an RBI single, leading the Guardians to a 5-0 lead. Later in the eighth inning, Rocchio singled to bring home Rhys Hoskins and David Fry, further solidifying the team’s advantage.

Matt Festa, who was making his debut for the Guardians, retired the final batter in the fifth inning with the bases loaded. Peyton Pallette, a Rule 5 Draft selection, followed up with two perfect innings, adding to the team’s momentum.
Since 2017, the Guardians have maintained a strong record against the Orioles, standing at 38-21. The Orioles have not managed to win a season series against Cleveland since 2016, highlighting the Guardians’ dominance in this matchup.
Ramírez has been in excellent form recently, batting .342 with five homers in his last 11 games. His consistent performance has been a key factor in the team’s success.
Trevor Rogers, the starting pitcher for the Orioles, allowed a season-high six runs, five earned, in five innings. Meanwhile, Guardians starter Joey Cantillo pitched 4 2/3 innings, giving up four runs, three earned.
Cleveland catcher Austin Hedges demonstrated his skill by winning both of his challenges in the first two innings, contributing to the team’s defensive strength.
