Lana Del Rey’s New James Bond Theme Song
Singer Lana Del Rey has unveiled a theme song for a new James Bond video game titled First Light. The 40-year-old artist, known for her work in the music industry, co-wrote the track with David Arnold. Arnold is a well-known composer who has worked on several 007 films, including Quantum of Solace, Casino Royale, Die Another Day, The World Is Not Enough, and Tomorrow Never Dies. Can we just say, (singing) ‘it’s only 24 hours in a day’, I wrote that for them, but Sam (Smith, who sang Writing’s On The Wall, the theme to 2015’s Skyfall) you did a wonderful job, really, no I’m just kidding… One day maybe, but probably not, but I’m going to continue to sing and do my little Nancy Sinatra thing every now and then, and just pretend that it’s the title track.”
The song is now available on streaming platforms and YouTube. The game 007 First Light is set to be released on May 27. A message accompanying the release stated, “Lana brings the James Bond universe into her world, creating her own musical interpretation for the game’s reimagined origin story.”
Del Rey has also released a single titled White Feather Hawk Tail Deer Hunter, which is expected to feature on a new studio album called Stove. This album is anticipated to be released later this year. It would mark her first studio album since Did You Know That There’s A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, released in 2023.
