Netflix’s Beloved Show to Exit Streaming – Fans in Shock

There are a number of highly anticipated new shows currently available on Netflix, including Big Mistakes, Bridgerton, and Heartbreak High, among others that have been generating a lot of conversation. However, it’s not uncommon for the streaming platform to occasionally disappoint its audience by quietly removing some of the comfort shows that have become essential viewing for many.

When we say that the latest victim of Netflix’s monthly cull has hit hard, it’s truly been a blow. We’re not thrilled to be the ones delivering this news, but Schitt’s Creek is set to leave Netflix on 15 May.

First released in 2015, this comedy series has become a go-to for millions around the globe. The show follows the story of the wealthy Rose family, who lose everything overnight and are forced to rebuild their lives in a small town they once bought as a joke—Schitt’s Creek. It features Dan, Sarah, and Eugene Levy, Annie Murphy, Emily Hampshire, and the late Catherine O’Hara, whose passing in January reignited a renewed interest in the show.

Over the course of its six seasons, Schitt’s Creek won over 60 awards, with its final season taking home nine Primetime Emmys, setting a new record for a comedy series. Fans have been expressing their disappointment online, with one person noting they were “desperately trying to rewatch all 80 episodes,” joking that it might take “as long as I don’t eat, sleep or work.” Another quipped that they’ll now have to “eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner in silence.”

Despite the heartbreak, there’s still hope. It’s important to remember that Netflix often removes content temporarily before bringing it back, and in the case of Schitt’s Creek, it will be moving to Hulu for now. This means it will still be available to stream, even if you’re not a Netflix subscriber.

If you’re looking for more content from Dan Levy, the co-creator and star of Schitt’s Creek, he has recently written and released the crime-comedy Big Mistakes. This new Netflix series follows a chaotic sibling duo, with his sister played by Taylor Ortega, who end up entangled in an organised crime ring after stealing a necklace.

So while we may be saying “au revoir” to our beloved comedy for now, it’s not too far away. With the show moving to Hulu, fans can still enjoy it without too much trouble.
