Excitement and Concern Over Season 2 of The Four Seasons
Netflix has released the trailer for season 2 of its comedy-drama series The Four Seasons, which has sparked both excitement and concern among fans. The show, starring Tina Fey and Colman Domingo, was a hit in its first season, and fans are eager to see what comes next. However, some viewers are worried about how the series will handle the absence of a major actor from the original cast.
Season 1 of The Four Seasons followed the lives of six lifelong friends across the seasons, with a structure that mirrored the passage of time. The show was based on the 1981 film of the same name, which was written by, directed by, and starred MAS*H legend Alan Alda. It proved to be a hit for Netflix, leading to the announcement of a second season.

Fans were particularly attached to the character of Nick, played by Steve Carell, who died at the end of the first season. In the seventh and penultimate episode, his character was killed in a car accident, and his five friends attended his funeral in the finale. This event left many fans heartbroken and wondering how the show would continue without him.

Despite hopes that Carell might appear in flashbacks, his omission from the new trailer has raised concerns. Fans took to social media to express their mixed feelings about the upcoming season. One user, @zamaqakaza6773, wrote: “So excited for season 2, I have been waiting. Sad about Steve Carrel though.” Another fan, @Awww_lena, said: “The first one wasn’t convincing. Without Carell for sure this one won’t be either.”

Some fans are also worried about how the show will portray Nick’s character in memoriam. @guitreehill commented: “Ugh, they’ll turn Nick into a martyr even though he was a selfish man in a midlife crisis.” These concerns highlight the emotional connection fans have with the characters and the impact of losing a key figure.
Despite these worries, many fans are still excited about the new season. @BradyConnolly44 shared his enthusiasm: “A domestic dramedy about a bunch of fifty-somethings reevaluating the states of their marriages? Loved every second. Perfect show, not one note.” Others, like @LukeCustardTV, said: “I thought it was a one-off but I loved spending time with these people so bring it on!”

The promotional poster for season 2 also raised questions, as Nick was the only character whose face couldn’t be seen. This led fans to speculate about how the show would handle his absence. @DonBishopXXX expressed his disappointment: “Nah we good. One season that’s it – y’all ain’t have to do Steve like that.” Meanwhile, @DerVeivmeister begged Netflix to find a way to include Carell more often: “Lots of flash backs please! Steve is the GOAT!”

This time around, the characters are mourning the loss of their best friend from college and working through how to navigate a relationship with the younger woman Nick met after leaving his wife. They embark on a trip to Italy, where they discuss new beginnings as their friendships and relationships evolve.

@Fashionita_133 expressed their excitement: “I’ve been waiting. The first season was so good.” @curtsmith3957 added: “Best ensemble cast, can’t wait for this to drop.” Dr. Ashok Sharda also shared his anticipation: “Comfort show energy is back, and we’re ready for the trip.”
While the show will continue without Carell, it still features a stellar cast, including Will Forte, Kerri Kenney-Silver, and Marco Calvani. As the release date of May 28 approaches, fans are eagerly awaiting the return of The Four Seasons.
